Job Description:
This non-supervisory position will support a wide range of project tasking as it relates to the Life Cycle Support Services Contract(s) with specific oversight of both the Advanced Technical Information System (ATIS) and Ship Drawing Index (SDI) functions. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the
ATIS/SDI CDM
Project Manager ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.
Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership:
Enforce safety policies and procedures, with a focus on housekeeping and personal safety.
Project Execution:
The primary function of this position is to accurately manage and status configuration records in both BIW and Navy databases as described: Manage and update SDI data to ensure Lifecycle Configuration requirements. Maintain the DDG Class ATIS system databases for both the DDG 51 and
DDG 1000
Class Ships. Provide fleet and shore-based activities with ATIS database and SDI Updates. Support IT efforts related to data conversion and management. Support metrics and reporting as they relate to the Lifecycle support contracts. Provide additional support to various other Configuration Management functions as required.
Training and Development:
Monitor processes and feedback on efforts to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
Engage and communicate with a variety of stakeholders at BIW and government contractor partners throughout execution of projects and processes Close collaboration/alignment with Design, Engineering and CMDM to ensure compliance Close collaboration with BIW Planning Yard and Government partners, supporting project related meetings, and overall strategy of assigned projects.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in Business Operating System (BOS) principles and productivity enhancements. Drive change throughout project management to increase efficiencies.
Required/Preferred Education/Training:
AS or BS degree in a technical field preferred. 3+ years of BIW New Construction or Planning Yard experience preferred.
Required/Preferred Experience:
1-3 years of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access. 1-3 years of experience in coding (eg. Python, C++, HMTL, VBA) is required. Specific experience with/or understanding of Configuration and Data Management Principles. Motivated with proven ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities. Practices strong analytical and organizational skills. This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance . You must be a a U.S. Citizen for consideration, and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
