Talon is seeking an Exploration Project Coordinator to support mineral exploration activities based in L'Anse, Michigan. This is a hands-on, field-focused role responsible for coordinating logistics and supporting day-to-day operations for drilling and exploration programs. The Exploration Project Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring exploration projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Company and regulatory standards. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including drilling support, site preparation, access development, equipment operation, core handling, and general field logistics. This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of working with minimal supervision, identifying issues in the field, and implementing practical solutions to keep operations running smoothly.Key Responsibilities:
Logistics, Coordination & Contractor Oversight Coordinate deliveries, contractors, movement of equipment, and schedules to support exploration activities. Supervise contractors performing field work such as trail construction, pad building, and site preparation to ensure work is completed safely and to Company standards. Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and team to ensure alignment on daily priorities. Work independently to identify operational issues and implement practical, field-based solutions Dilling Support Coordinate and support daily drilling activities, including materials handling, fuel management, and site logistics. Ensure drill sites are maintained in a safe, organized, and environmentally compliant condition. Site Preparation & Access Development Assist with trail building, access improvements, and site clearing for drilling activities. Support construction and maintenance of drill pads and staging areas. Install and manage swamp mats and other ground protection measures in sensitive terrain. Core Handling & Data Support Maintain clean, organized core storage warehouse and assist with core handling for logging and sampling activities. Support inventory and tracking of core boxes and related materials. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate light and heavy equipment such as skid steers, front-end loaders, ATVs/UTVs, and light trucks (as qualified). Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, vehicles, and tools. Maintain inventory of supplies, fuel, and parts required for field operations. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Follow all Company safety policies and procedures. Support safe work practices in the field, including hazard identification and mitigation. Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and site reclamation standards. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field-based role (e.g., construction, forestry, mining, or mineral exploration). Valid driver's license and ability to operate Company vehicles. Experience working in outdoor, field-based environments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong self-motivation. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing field conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather and terrain conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment.
