Job Description

Our Michigan-based commercial construction company offers architecture and design, design-build, construction management, general contracting, mechanical contracting, and self-performed trade services, allowing clients to streamline projects from initial planning through final completion. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Casework and Millwork operations. This role is responsible for managing custom architectural woodwork projects from estimating through fabrication and final delivery. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the quality standards our clients expect. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Preferred
  • Industrial, residential or commercial millwork/casework and/or fabrication experience (3 years with degree or 5 years without degree) Required
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. Required
  • Ability or experience in a customer-facing role. Required
  • Basic proficiency with project management and scheduling software (preferably Microsoft Project). Required
  • Must pass physical, background check, and initial/annual drug screening (marijuana included)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead casework and millwork projects from preconstruction through fabrication and delivery
  • Prepare estimates, review plans and specifications, and support design-build opportunities
  • Coordinate shop production schedules with construction project timelines
  • Manage labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment to meet project goals
  • Work with designers and project teams to develop and approve shop drawings
  • Track project budgets, schedules, and work-in-progress reporting
  • Maintain communication with internal project managers, clients, and vendors
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within shop operations
  • Provide leadership to shop personnel and support employee development
