Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. Working directly alongside our Lead Project Managers and Superintendents, you will play a vital role in ensuring that construction projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented professional who wants to build their leadership skills and advance into a Senior Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities Project Documentation:
Manage and maintain project files, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders using project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Budgeting & Procurement:
Assist with material take-offs, bid preparations, invoice reviews, and cost-tracking to help maintain project profitability.
Scheduling:
Collaborate with field teams to develop, track, and update Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules and track project milestones.
Subcontractor Coordination:
Serve as a primary point of contact for subcontractors, ensuring they have the necessary drawings, specifications, and scope documents to execute their work.
Quality & Safety:
Assist in enforcing job site safety protocols and conduct regular Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) inspections.
Project Closeout:
Manage the closeout process by tracking punch lists, securing municipal sign-offs, and compiling as-built drawings and warranties.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience:
2 to 5 years of relevant construction experience (project coordination, field engineering, or related roles).
Technical Skills:
High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project. Hands-on experience with construction software like Procore and Bluebeam is strongly preferred.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage relationships with clients, architects, and crew members.
Certifications:
OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification is a plus.
