Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline with 5+ years of project management experience. Experience managing capital projects within utility systems, district energy, power generation, industrial facilities, or large campus infrastructure environments. Strong understanding of steam, chilled water, hot water, electrical, or mechanical utility systems. Experience managing project scope, budget, schedule, contractors, and procurement activities. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a Project Manager of Utilities to oversee capital projects supporting utility infrastructure systems. This position will manage sustaining CAPEX projects from planning through execution and work closely with operations, engineering, and customer stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. The successful candidate will support a variety of infrastructure projects involving steam, chilled water, electrical, and mechanical systems while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Manage utility capital projects from design and procurement through construction and closeout. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and progress reports. Coordinate contractors, procurement activities, and project stakeholders to achieve scope, budget, and schedule objectives. Collaborate with operations and customer personnel to support annual sustaining CAPEX programs. Review engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation. Monitor project performance and resolve issues encountered during execution. Ensure projects comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements :
Experience managing multiple capital projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of utility infrastructure, district energy, or industrial facilities. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software. Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven negotiation and consensus-building abilities. Education /
Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Minimum of five years of project management experience, including leadership responsibilities. Experience supporting universities, hospitals, power plants, district energy systems, or industrial facilities is preferred. PMP certification and experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation are considered a plus.
