  • Full-time | On-siteAbout the OpportunityA telecommunications company is seeking an experienced OSP Project Manager
  • Construction to lead and oversee Outside Plant Construction (OSPC) operations.
This role is responsible for the successful construction, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic network facilities while overseeing daily operations, contractors, staff, and customer communications.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Process StandardizationProvide leadership and technical expertise to the OSPC team.

Standardize processes to improve efficiency and performance.

Meet and maintain production levels set by management.

Project ManagementManage new OSP facility construction projects, ensuring they meet company standards and comply with local regulations.

Act as the main point of contact with customers for design changes, homeowner complaints, and other construction-related matters.

Complete inspections of installed conduit and fiber.

Manage a team of splicers.

Read and interpret engineering documents and prints.

Maintenance & OperationsSchedule and manage maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for existing OSP facilities.

Resolve customer complaints.

Manage utility strikes and perform strike investigations and document accordingly.

Team Support & CoordinationDirectly support in-house drill crews and contractors.

Ensure the safe and efficient completion of construction projects, with a focus on safety and quality.

Adhere to safety standards when completing drilling, installation of structures, traffic control, and restoration.

Fleet & Equipment ManagementOversee the construction fleet, tools, and safety protocols.

Conduct quality control audits to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent job experience.

ExperienceAt least 5-6 years of technical experience in engineering, construction, or operations within the telecommunications industry.

Demonstrated ability to lead technicians and contractors in telecom construction.

Regulatory KnowledgeStrong understanding of OSHA regulations, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and federal, state, and local regulations (DOT/DOH).Software ProficiencyExperience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills & AbilitiesProject ManagementProven ability to manage multiple construction projects across different geographical locations.

Excellent organizational skills to manage and track projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.

Technical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of fiber optic systems, construction methodologies, and network infrastructure.

CommunicationStrong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders, including municipalities, contractors, and team members.

Budget ManagementAbility to manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective project execution.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have a blend of hands-on technical expertise in fiber optics and network construction, leadership skills to manage teams and multiple projects, and experience with budgeting and compliance. The candidate should be an effective communicator capable of liaising with regulatory bodies, contractors, and municipalities while ensuring projects are completed on time and within safety standards.
