Position Summary The Remodeling Project Coordinator serves as the key coordination link between the Project Manager, field carpenters, subcontractors, municipalities, and other parties involved in residential remodeling projects. This position is responsible for keeping remodeling projects organized and moving efficiently from pre-construction through completion. The Coordinator will handle permitting, subcontractor coordination, field scheduling, project documentation, and preparation of proposed and as-built drawings using Microsoft Visio . The ideal candidate will have some experience or knowledge of residential construction, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with both field and office personnel. This is a highly people-oriented position. The Coordinator will regularly communicate with carpenters, subcontractors, Project Managers, homeowners, inspectors, and city officials. The ability to communicate clearly, maintain positive working relationships, resolve routine issues, and keep people informed is critical to success in this role. Experience in accessibility construction, remodeling, home modifications, or ADA-related construction is a plus, but is not required. Key Responsibilities Permitting & Municipal Coordination Prepare, submit, track, and obtain building and remodeling permits from cities, municipalities, counties, and other governing agencies. Coordinate required inspections and communicate with city officials and inspectors. Review permit requirements and ensure required documentation is complete and submitted accurately. Maintain organized records of permits, inspections, approvals, and related correspondence. Assist Project Managers and field personnel with resolving permitting or municipal questions. Field & Carpenter Coordination Serve as the day-to-day communication link between Project Managers and company carpenters. Prepare and distribute daily and weekly schedules to field carpenters. Coordinate job assignments, site visits, inspections, material needs, and other field activities. Communicate schedule changes and project updates to carpenters in a timely manner. Ensure field personnel have the information, drawings, and documentation needed to complete their work. Develop positive working relationships with field staff and provide clear, timely communication regarding project expectations and schedules. Help identify scheduling conflicts, field issues, or potential delays and communicate them to the Project Manager. Maintain a professional, respectful, and solutions-oriented relationship with field employees. Subcontractor Coordination Schedule and coordinate subcontractors throughout the remodeling process. Communicate project schedules, site requirements, and expectations to subcontractors. Confirm subcontractor availability and coordinate the sequencing of work. Track subcontractor progress and communicate scheduling issues to the Project Manager. Coordinate subcontractor access to job sites when necessary. Maintain professional and productive relationships with subcontractors. Address routine scheduling and coordination issues while escalating larger concerns to the Project Manager. Drafting & Project Documentation Create proposed layouts, floor plans, and basic construction drawings using Microsoft Visio . Prepare as-built drawings and update plans based on actual field conditions. Modify existing drawings and layouts as projects change. Prepare drawings and supporting documentation for permit submissions and municipal review. Maintain organized digital project files, drawings, permits, and related documentation. Project Support Assist Project Managers with project planning and coordination. Help ensure projects remain on schedule by proactively identifying upcoming needs and deadlines. Track project milestones, inspections, subcontractor work, and other critical activities. Assist with gathering information needed for change orders, project updates, and project closeout. Communicate field issues and project concerns to the appropriate Project Manager. Assist with final inspections, documentation, and permit completion. Core Requirements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with people in both office and field environments. Comfortable communicating with a wide variety of people, including carpenters, subcontractors, homeowners, Project Managers, inspectors, and municipal officials. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and deadlines simultaneously. Basic understanding of residential construction and remodeling. Ability to read and understand basic construction plans and drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues before they become larger problems. Professional, dependable, and able to follow through on commitments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability and willingness to learn Microsoft Visio and the company's project management processes. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in residential construction, remodeling, construction coordination, or a related field. Experience with accessibility construction, home modifications, or ADA-related construction. Experience working with building departments, permitting offices, or municipal inspectors. Experience creating or modifying construction drawings. Previous experience coordinating subcontractors or field personnel. Experience with Microsoft Visio.

$58,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
