  • Part-time, Contract Project Labor Coordinator Job Summary We are looking for a sharp, organized Project Labor Coordinator to take ownership of our labor data.
In this role, you won't just be entering numbers; you will be the bridge between our field crews and our payroll system. Your primary mission is to ensure that every hour worked is accurately accounted for and allocated to the correct job site, ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. This is a critical role for our job-costing accuracy and project management.
Position Details Pay:
Starting at $20.00/hour
Schedule:
Part-time, permanent (approximately 20-25 hours per week )
Hours:
Mondays & Tuesdays are fixed/required to meet our weekly payroll cycle.
Key Responsibilities Labor Allocation & Timekeeping:
Audit and manage daily entries in Workyard . Review crew logs to "allocate" hours to specific project codes, ensuring time reflects movement between job sites.
Payroll Processing:
Process weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees using Paychex . Reconcile timecards, import journal entries into accounting software, and handle 401K contribution files.
Data Integrity:
Identify and resolve discrepancies between reported hours and scheduled shifts. Reach out to field supervisors to "chase down" missing or conflicting information.
Records Management:
Maintain accurate records for exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, wage garnishments, child support orders, and termination paperwork.
Onboarding & Support:
Handle new employee setup in payroll software and assist with benefits/open enrollment. Serve as the point of contact for employee questions regarding logged hours or system access.
Qualifications Education:
Associate degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience (multi-state and construction-based payroll preferred).
Technical Skills:
Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate specialized software; experience with Paychex and Workyard is a significant plus.

    High Numerical Aptitude:
    An exceptional commitment to accuracy and "eye for detail" to catch single hours out of place.
    Communication:
    Strong professional verbal and written skills to coordinate with field personnel and managers.
    Reliability:
    Strict adherence to deadlines and the Monday/Tuesday schedule is vital.
    Discretion:
    Ability to maintain employee trust by protecting confidential payroll information.
