Lead Program Manager - Construction (Electrical & Mechanical) Job Description This role provides strategic and operational oversight for multiple large-scale electrical and mechanical construction projects across all phases of delivery. The Lead Program Manager leads project performance through strong operational management, effective resource allocation, and rigorous adherence to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards. This position also oversees and mentors project managers, ensuring consistent execution and continuous improvement across a portfolio of commercial and federally regulated construction projects. Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational oversight for multiple construction projects, including both electrical and mechanical scopes, from planning through completion. Drive project and program performance by implementing effective operational management practices and aligning resources as needed. Oversee project managers and multiple concurrent construction projects, setting program strategies that support long-term work and growth. Ensure all projects meet established scheduling deadlines, budget targets, and safety objectives. Allocate and manage all project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, while maintaining control over project budgets. Monitor project progress daily and provide clear, concise updates to executive leadership on progress, risks, and successes. Ensure all workmanship meets required standards, specifications, and processes, and that all work complies with applicable regulations. Prepare and deliver required daily and weekly reports to executive leadership, summarizing project status, key metrics, and action items. Coach, mentor, and support project managers on site to foster continuous improvement, professional development, and consistent project delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to address issues, manage changes, and keep projects aligned with overall program objectives. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all projects and ensure adherence to company safety policies and federal regulations. Essential Skills At least 15 years of experience as a lead program manager overseeing complex construction projects. Proven experience managing commercial construction projects, including both electrical and mechanical scopes. Strong experience in project management and construction management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience working within and complying with federal regulations on construction projects. Current federal clearance, with the ability to work on federally regulated projects. Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management. Ability to drive performance through operational management and effective resource alignment. Strong skills in budget management, scheduling, and safety oversight. Excellent leadership abilities with experience supervising and developing project managers. Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear daily and weekly updates and reports to executive leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications Extensive experience in program management, overseeing multiple projects within a broader construction program. Proven ability to develop long-term program strategies and align project execution with strategic objectives. Experience preparing and delivering structured progress reports and performance metrics to lead leadership. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor project teams to achieve continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced construction environment. Work Environment This is a field-based role working directly on active construction sites, both outdoors and within an on-site trailer environment. You will spend the majority of your time at the construction location, closely engaged with project teams and day-to-day operations. The schedule typically runs six days per week, Monday through Saturday, reflecting the fast-paced nature of large commercial and federally regulated construction projects. The environment is hands-on, collaborative, and focused on safely delivering high-quality work on time and within budget. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Great Falls, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $190000.00 - $230000.00/yr.
