Job Description

Assistant Project Manager Assist Project Managers (APM) works with the Project Manager, project team, and other management; and assists them in all phases and aspects of a project. The Assistant Project Manager's role is crucial to a company's success because they ensure projects run smoothly by monitoring workflow, scheduling assignments, and daily production. Roles and Responsibilities Assist the Project Managers in adhering to all Project Management related Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain daily production log database Coordinates contracts and materials to support the project by interfacing with procurement and external vendors and subcontractors. Supports project closeout (i.e., punch list items, client final acceptance, etc.); and Maintain accurate records of equipment and labor on site Prepare and collect signed purchase orders and subcontracts Assist Foreman with setting up tablets and submitting daily logs for time and equipment Coding project invoices properly for Project Manager approval Maintain organized records of project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, shop drawings, Submittal Log, and close-out documents. Assists with other tasks as designated by the project manager Assists with daily schedule tracking Review plans and contracts to help ensure all obligations are met. Qualifications and Education Requirements B.S. or M.S. in Construction Management/ Engineering. (or previous field experience combined with previous APM experience). 2 years (minimum) of civil construction experience Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills Strong problem-solving ability Attention to details & the ability to maintain accurate records & documents Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel Knowledge of project scheduling and time management. Preferred Skills Pro Contractor, Pro Core or similar construction software Proficient in Microsoft Project Previous field experience on a civil construction crew Critical thinking
