Position Summary/Description:
The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an organized, collaborative professional to work across multiple projects primarily related to increasing adoption of evidence-based interventions for cancer prevention and control in community clinic settings across North Carolina. The person hired into this position will be responsible for maintaining strategies and infrastructure to support both research and community engagement that are essential in translating evidence-based research into population health practice across North Carolina. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations of the
CAPRICORN
initiative, which is focused on engaging community clinic partners in lasting research and practice partnership with UNC Lineberger. This position will build and maintain strong relationships among UNC Lineberger researchers, community clinics, and state/regional advocacy and professional associations. Activities include independently planning and implementing training and technical assistance services in support of clinic-based quality improvement efforts. database management, administrative activities. This position also will manage selected research studies with a focus on increasing cancer screening and adoption of evidence-based population health strategies in primary care practice. It involves both conducting and managing applied cancer prevention and control research with clinic partners. Research responsibilities will include developing and monitoring study timelines, submitting IRB submissions and renewals, ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting in development data collection instruments, participating in data collection, and coordinating and facilitating research team meetings. The position will be expected to contribute to funding proposal, manuscripts, presentations, and reports. They will consistently work with team members and collaborators to integrate their work into final products.
Education and Experience:
  • Experience planning and managing cancer prevention and control interventions.
  • Experience conducting independent community-engaged population health research including planning, implementing and/or evaluating public health interventions.
  • Strong writing, speaking, presenting, training, and group facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency using computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as statistical software programs, such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS.
