Position Summary QT Corporation in Goldsboro, North Carolina, invites applications from qualified professionals for the position of project manager. This is not a remote work position. QT Corporation is a leader in electrical Switchboard, energy storage, data center, solar and EV charging industries controls equipment, delivering innovative engineering solutions to clients across the industry. We are growing our corporation teams and seeking a skilled project manager to support our needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects related to industrial environment equipment. This role oversees the full project lifecycle—from initial scope definition through delivery and client handover—ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between sales, clients, engineering teams, vendors, and field operations. Direct report to operations manager. Primary Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution- Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and coordinate with operation manager to determine any resource allocations necessary for industrial equipment installations and upgrades
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with client requirements and corporate objectives
- Coordinate with operation manager for any necessary procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractor services to support project timelines
- Monitor project progress against baseline plans and implement corrective actions when necessary Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining clear and consistent communication
- Facilitate project kick-off meetings, status reviews, and client acceptance inspections
- Manage change of orders, scope modifications, and contractual obligations in cooperation with executive, legal and finance teams Risk & Safety Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks including safety, regulatory compliance, and operational hazards specific to industrial environments
- Ensure all project activities comply with
OSHA, EPA, UL 508A, UL
891 and applicable industry safety standards- Develop and maintain risk registers and contingency plans for critical project phases Budget & Financial Control
- Tracking project costs against forecasts and reporting variances to leadership
- Prepare and submit accurate project cost reports, ensure invoice schedules are on task, and earned value analysis
- Work with customers subcontractor contracts to optimize cost and quality outcomes when applicable Team Leadership
- Work with cross-functional project teams including engineers, technicians, procurement specialists, and field crews
- Provide clear direction, resolve conflicts, and maintain team motivation throughout complex multi-phase projects Qualifications Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Industrial) or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- PMP certification (Project Management Professional) required; PMI-RMP or equivalent risk certification preferred Experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, or environmental equipment sectors
- Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar projects from initiation through commissioning
- Experience with equipment systems such as switch gears, power management, or industrial control is highly desirable
- Field experience working with installation, commissioning, or maintenance teams in industrial settings preferred Required Skills
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of contract management, RFQ/RFP processes, and vendor negotiation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) What we offer
