Job Description

Project Manager Symmetrix Composite Tooling - Statesville, North Carolina Position Summary Symmetrix Composite Tooling is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of composite tooling projects for customers across aerospace, automotive, marine, defense, and industrial markets. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and technical project management skills, along with experience in manufacturing, tooling, composites, or engineered products. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple composite tooling projects from contract award through final delivery.
  • Develop project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, delays, and technical challenges.
  • Coordinate design reviews, production planning meetings, and customer updates.
  • Track project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets and profitability targets.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, status reports, action item logs, and change management records.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure tooling designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Support procurement activities by coordinating material and supplier requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Manage project scope changes and communicate impacts to schedule, cost, and resources.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including lessons learned and customer feedback reviews. QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing composites or other related industries.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Experience managing customer-facing projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in supported project management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Preferred
  • Experience with composite tooling, molds, fixtures, or aerospace tooling.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Rhino 3D Modeling software of similar
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Key Competencies
