The Director of Education Development and Special Projects , with oversight of the Vice President of Team Health (TH), is a central part of TH's management team that works collaboratively to implement strategic and development planning and also works independently to create and oversee the implementation of an integrated approach to process improvement, education, certification, accreditation, grants, research, residencies, engagement, and awards. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Director of Education Development and Special Projects at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Assists the Vice Presidents (VPs) and fellow Directors with the design and completion of a strategic plan and annual goals. Assists VPs and fellow Directors with the development and implementation of programs and activities aimed at creating a positive workplace and improving team member engagement. Oversees the development and implementation of TH's team member orientation, ongoing education and competency assessment as required by internal HMH policies and regulatory agencies. Collaborates with Subject matter experts to ensure regulatory standards are integrated into all competency related education and appropriately documented. Monitors OSHA, CMS, State of New Jersey, The Joint Commission and other entities as appropriate for policy and standards changes and/or new criteria as needed to help inform program and policy development. Reviews, revises and manages staff annual competencies, skills checklists and remediation as needed. Anticipates (and eliminates) future skills gaps through incisive new education and development programming Introduces new education and development programs on an ongoing basis to support evolving strategic objectives. Builds relationships with third-party resources, vendors and partners to roll out innovative and experiential learning models. Oversees HMH New Hire and Annual Basic Training relative to Team Health topics. Oversees the collection, analysis and reporting of education-related data and metrics. Manages TH Policy and guideline development, approval and implementation with a focus on meeting the needs of the team members, regulatory requirements and process efficiency ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, NJDOHSS, CDC, TJC, etc.), in collaboration with appropriate subject matter experts. Ensures that clinical policies and procedures are approved and integrated into the electronic intranet system and disseminated to appropriate stakeholders. Develops, recommends and /or implements actions for process improvements as appropriate, while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices. Provides oversight and management of assigned projects and related tasks, and planning for improvements where needed. Utilizes Change Management, Project Management and Business Process Management disciplines for successful, on-budget and on-time initiatives delivery. Meets project goals, especially related to deliverables, performance measures, and processes. Ensures the coordination of documentation, systems and department staff to achieve the goals of any assigned project. Monitors project progress, drafting and distributing periodic progress and performance reports for leadership and stakeholders. Serves as a liaison to division leadership for assigned projects. Assists in recruitment, development and supervision of team members. Contributes to TH team member performance management processes in collaboration with
