The Project Manager oversees the daily administration and coordination of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Manager will work closely with the estimator during the bidding process and take responsibly for procurement, contract management, financial tracking, documentation, and on-site safety. This role is vital to ensure each project is executed efficiently, within budget, and in full compliance with safety and quality standards. The Construction Project Manager will embody leadership principles focused on collaboration, risk management, and creating a remarkable project environment. Duties Lead the daily administrative and management of assigned construction projects. Collaborate closely with the estimator during the building phase, including receiving quotes, estimating costs, and participating in project buyouts. Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that all project components are purchased accurately and in alignment with project requirements through the submittal and approval process. Prepare and submit all necessary documentation to accounting to bill the project owner. Process all scope changes, including issuing project change orders and communication of revisions to accounting in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain documentation and paper-related aspects of the project (submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, etc.). Ensure jobsite safety is a top priority by enforcing company safety policies and OSHA compliance. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Implement quality systems to support crew leaders and ensure high quality, defect free work. Serve as the key point of contact for subcontractors, vendors and internal stakeholders through the project life cycle. Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using lean methodologies to ensure flow and minimize bottlenecks. Oversee project budgets, track costs, negotiate with vendors, and mitigate cost overruns through proactive forecasting and value engineering. Ensure financial transparency and accountability. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively through intentional pre-construction planning and weekly risk reviews. Implement strategies to address constraints and ensure project stability. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high energy work environment. Lead project teams, including superintendents, subcontractors, and crew leaders, to promote engagement, productivity, and a positive culture. Support the development of team members through mentorship and training. Manage relationships with clients, design professionals, consultants, subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders. Facilitate clear, timely communication through regular project updates, meetings, and documentation including RFI's, submittals, shop drawings, and addendums. Apply lean principles, such as pull planning, look ahead planning, and Integrated Production Control System to optimize project flow and reduce waste. Ensure projects are planned with stability and respect for workers. Manage all aspects of project execution, including permit procurement, hiring subcontractors, procuring materials, addressing issues, and removing roadblocks promptly to maintain schedule and budget. Collaborate with the Construction Superintendent to ensure the team is aligned with project goals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with hands-on involvement in estimating, procurement, and project administration. Solid understanding or construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations. Experience working closely with estimators and managing projects from bidding through closeout. Strong knowledge of project financials, including subcontractor billing, vendor payment processing and owner invoicing. Proficient in construction management software (e.g. Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Sage Construction Management, PlanGrid, or similar). Excellent organization and documentation skills, ability to manage all paper-based aspects of a project accurately and efficiently. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, accounting, and field staff. Proven ability to manage project change orders, budget adjustments, and procurement timelines. Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA certification a plus). Ability to interpret blueprints, contracts, and specifications. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to jobsites, as needed.
