Interior Project Manager Job Description This Interior Project Manager role focuses on delivering high-quality corporate interior projects, including bridge design, furniture planning, and construction execution. You will support fit-outs, renovations, and relocations while working closely with design teams and General Contractors to act as a full-scope interiors partner across multiple projects. The position offers significant field exposure, real project ownership, and a clear path to grow into a Senior Project Manager or lead role in interiors and construction. Responsibilities Lead and manage interior projects from planning through completion, including bridge design, furniture layouts, and construction execution. Support and coordinate corporate interior fit-outs, renovations, and relocations to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with specifications. Work closely with design teams and General Contractors to act as a full-scope interiors partner across assigned projects. Interpret and understand floor plans to ensure all work aligns with approved layouts, furniture plans, and project specifications. Supervise and oversee installations in the field, spending the majority of time onsite managing day-to-day activities. Meet regularly with installers and contractors to review work progress and address any issues or discrepancies. Ensure projects match approved floor plans and specifications by coordinating between design teams, contractors, and installers. Coordinate with General Contractors (GCs), maintaining clear communication and strong working relationships throughout each project. Use Excel and grid-based tools to track project details, layouts, and progress, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. Travel frequently (primarily within NJ, NYC, and CT) to project sites, including overnight stays when needed, and work occasional nights and weekends based on project demands. Review drawings and job specifications when not onsite to prepare for upcoming work and ensure accurate execution in the field. Learn and support quantity takeoffs and other preconstruction tasks to build a strong technical foundation in interiors and construction project management. Contribute to field operations by identifying issues, proposing solutions, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. Participate actively in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of assigned projects and contributing to a positive, collaborative work culture. Essential Skills Proven project management experience in interiors, construction, or corporate interiors environments. Ability to read, interpret, and understand floor plans and furniture plans accurately. Working knowledge of general construction processes and terminology. Moderate technical proficiency with Excel and grid-based tools for tracking and analysis. Confidence and comfort communicating with General Contractors and field personnel. Experience supervising or overseeing installations and coordinating with installers and contractors. Strong coordination skills to ensure floor plans, design intent, and field execution remain aligned. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 70% of the time within NJ, NYC, and CT. Flexibility to work hours that may include nights, weekends, or occasional overnight stays based on project needs. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with corporate interiors projects, including furniture layouts and furniture plans. Background or interest in field operations, including managing onsite activities and resolving field issues. Interest in developing skills in drawings review, quantity takeoffs, and job specification analysis. Motivation to grow into a well-rounded interiors and construction Project Manager. Desire for real project ownership and direct involvement in day-to-day field work. Interest in working closely with leadership and project partners to learn best practices and advance into Senior Project Manager or lead roles. Work Environment This role is heavily field-based, with approximately 70% of your time spent onsite at active project locations across NJ, NYC, and CT. You will work primarily in construction environments, overseeing installations, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring that work aligns with floor plans and specifications. The schedule may include nights, weekends, and occasional overnight stays, depending on project timelines and site requirements. When not in the field, you will work in an office or remote setting reviewing drawings, learning takeoffs, and studying job specifications. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on work culture and professional development. You will use tools such as Excel and grid-based systems to manage project information, and you will have ongoing opportunities to build your skills in field operations, GC coordination, and interior construction project management. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mountainside, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr.
