Job Overview We are seeking a hard working and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to join our railroad construction team. This role is vital in supporting project planning, cost estimation, and overall project coordination to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong technical skills, and a passion for construction management. You will work closely with senior project managers, estimators, and field teams to facilitate smooth operations from initial estimates through project completion. Duties Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and project requirements. Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones. Support project managers in coordinating procurement activities, tracking costs, and managing budgets through construction management and cost management tools. Review construction plans and specifications thoroughly to identify potential issues or discrepancies early in the planning process. Contribute to the development of comprehensive project timelines, resource allocation plans, and risk assessments for projects. Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of project progress, change orders, and daily reports. Participate in site visits to gain hands-on construction experience, observe operations, and support on-site coordination efforts. Help analyze scheduling data and project metrics to support decision-making and improve efficiency across multiple projects. Requirements Proven experience with construction estimating, project scheduling, and project management. Strong knowledge of railroad construction industry standards, plans, specifications, and site safety protocols. Demonstrated ability to analyze data effectively using Excel for cost analysis and scheduling insights. Prior construction site experience is highly desirable to understand field operations and logistics. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines through effective time management. Familiarity with construction management processes including cost control, resource planning, and project coordination. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred; relevant work experience will also be considered. $52,000.00 - $72,800.00 per year
