About Our Client About the Company Our client is a leading civil construction and site development contractor serving commercial, residential, municipal, and institutional clients throughout New Jersey. Known for delivering high-quality sitework and infrastructure projects, the company specializes in excavation, grading, utilities, drainage, paving, stormwater management, and full-site development services. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Civil Sitework Project Manager to join their team in Rumson, NJ. Job Description Hiring Need / Day to Day The Civil Sitework Project Manager will oversee multiple site development and heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position is responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and overall project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil construction operations, site development projects, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage civil sitework projects from award through completion. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Coordinate field operations with Superintendents and Foremen. Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents. Manage subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement. Track project costs and monitor budget performance. Process change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation. Attend client meetings and serve as the primary point of contact. Monitor project quality, safety compliance, and production goals. Collaborate with estimating and operations teams during project startup and closeout. Resolve construction challenges and proactively mitigate project risks. Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to senior leadership. The Successful Applicant Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction or site development. Experience managing earthwork, excavation, grading, paving, underground utilities, drainage, and infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost management. Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret civil plans and engineering drawings. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. OSHA knowledge and commitment to jobsite safety.
