You'll take projects from concept, space planning and FF&E through procurement, construction administration and the final styled install. You are equally at ease collaborating on site and presenting ideas to clients. Please read this part before you apply. This is not a drafting or documentation role. You will produce drawings, but the drawings are maybe a quarter of the job. The rest is sourcing and specifying furnishings, holding budgets and schedules, managing vendors and trades, standing in the field solving problems in real time, and owning the client relationship. We specialize in full-service, turn-key interiors for new construction and extensive renovations. You'll find a collaborative, in-person team where your ideas land on real projects and there's genuine room to grow. What you'll be doing Design leadership Own multiple residential projects from concept through install with minimal supervision, upholding the studio's aesthetic and standards Interpret and advance the Principal's vision while contributing original ideas, concepts, space planning, and FF&E direction Develop architectural details from cabinetry through millwork; produce plans, elevations, sections, and details that a contractor can actually build from Build presentation-ready boards and client decks that are materially accurate, and present them clearly and confidently Project management Solidify the project proposal and scope, then hold it from budgets, schedules, and the critical path across several concurrent jobs Source, quote, and specify FF&E and finishes; prepare proposals; manage purchasing end to end through ordering, expediting, and delivery Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and vendors, with clear communication and consistent follow-through Attend site meetings, walkthroughs, and installations; troubleshoot in real time with GCs, fabricators, and trades Tech and workflow Produce drawings in CAD and bring spaces to life in SketchUp Work with the studio's project tools (Asana) and pricing/proposal system (Studio Designer) so nothing slips Put AI to work sharpening how we operate from faster sourcing and research, sharper presentations, cleaner documentation and client communication. Help the studio adopt new tools thoughtfully Help refine internal processes and documentation to improve quality and efficiency People Mentor junior and intermediate designers, review their work, and champion their growth Share knowledge freely, that's how this studio works What we're looking for Must have 7+ years in full-service residential interior design, with a portfolio that demonstrates concept-to-completion leadership on high-end homes Hands-on experience sourcing, selecting, and pricing furnishings and finishes. This is non-negotiable Real field experience: new construction and renovation, site meetings, punch lists, install days Project management depth across FF&E, budgets, and timelines Fluency in CAD and SketchUp, with the ability to draw elevations, sections, and details Outstanding client, subcontractor, and vendor communication Meticulous attention to detail and calm, practical judgment during construction and installation Highly organized and self-directed. Able to run independently, and a genuine team player when it counts A car, and willingness to travel regionally between Short Hills, client sites, Manasquan, and LBI for site visits, install oversight, and vendor pickups (mileage reimbursed) Nice to have Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture (strong portfolios and track records are considered without it) Studio Designer, or an equivalent pricing and proposal system Established relationships across vendors, showrooms, and fabricators Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, 3ds
