Job Description Do you want to contribute to the design of equipment that helps save lives? Are you looking for a varied role in a demanding environment within a human-sized team? Safran Aerosystems (SAO) designs high-technology solutions that enhance aircraft performance and flight safety. As the world leader in emergency evacuation systems and crew oxygen systems, Safran Aerosystems is also a major player in fuel and fluid systems. You will join the Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV), part of the DASY Division, a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of evacuation slides, life rafts, and life vests for aircraft, as well as flotation systems for helicopters. You will join the Engineering Department, your mission, as an Experienced Project Manager, will be as follows:
  • Lead a project for the development of new evacuation system products, by delegation from a Program Manager
  • Define the high-level strategy for structuring the technical project based on project needs (WBS, OBS, development logic, Estimates at Completion (EACs), reporting, schedule and critical path tracking, configuration management, work package performance, work package charters) and ensure its implementation
  • Guarantee the achievement of Quality / Cost / Delivery performance for the project and individual work packages, per the work package charters (cost estimates, milestones, scope of work)
  • Manage the execution of the project and work packages in accordance with the company's project management processes
  • Lead the technical team assigned to the work packages and provide them with the necessary resources to perform their tasks
  • Supervise the deliverables of the various project work packages
  • Ensure optimization of schedules, costs, and product required to achieve the best trade-offs and product maturity
  • Manage risks and opportunities within the assigned scope and drive associated action/mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable regulations (TSO and Certification / Airworthiness requirements)
  • Ensure that project team members have the required competencies
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the project management profession via participation in the Safran Project Management Networks Travel to customer locations or company sites will be required.
Job Requirements We are looking for a candidate who combines strong technical expertise with proven project leadership in a new product development environment. You bring a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (a Master's is a plus) along with at least 5 years of experience managing projects, ideally in complex, cross-functional settings.

  • Solid project management capabilities, with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through delivery
  • A broad understanding of product design, allowing you to collaborate effectively with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Proven experience in project cost control and scheduling, ensuring timelines and budgets are successfully met
  • A track record of leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, where your communication and leadership make a real impact
