This role partners closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to review technical designs, validate system performance, and ensure that infrastructure is installed, tested, and operating as intended. The position requires a strong blend of project management, technical literacy in electrical and mechanical systems, and hands-on field presence to keep complex programs on track, safe, and aligned with quality and schedule expectations. Responsibilities Own the day-to-day execution of a large, mission-critical construction project with primary accountability for one building or facility workstream. Coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, and building control systems to ensure all equipment and systems perform as designed. Review electrical and mechanical design documents, specifications, and test scripts to validate technical accuracy and constructability. Conduct equipment walk-downs and field inspections to verify installation quality, system readiness, and alignment with design intent. Coordinate vendors and subcontractors, manage action items, and ensure accountability to schedule, deliverables, and quality standards. Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables, and maintain a predictable execution cadence across assigned workstreams. Identify schedule and technical risks early, propose mitigation options, and escalate complex issues with clear, fact-based reporting. Maintain clear documentation of issues, risks, commissioning outcomes, and field conditions using standard productivity tools. Translate real-world site conditions into concise updates and reports for engineering leadership and other stakeholders. Drive daily sequencing, prioritization, and constraint management across mechanical and electrical scopes on active construction sites. Collaborate closely with on-site teams to meet safety, quality, and schedule objectives while operating with a high degree of independence. Support operational readiness validation by reviewing building controls and automation systems and identifying gaps or deficiencies. Communicate clearly with cross-functional partners to align expectations, resolve conflicts, and keep complex construction programs moving forward. Essential Skills 5-6 years of total experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, commissioning, or critical facilities operations. 5+ years managing technical projects with defined scope, schedule, and deliverables. Demonstrated experience supporting electrical and/or mechanical systems in complex facilities environments. Proven ability to lead day-to-day execution of active construction sites with a focus on mechanical and electrical scopes. Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors on large-scale projects. Working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems sufficient to interpret field conditions and communicate with engineering leadership. Hands-on exposure to building controls, automation systems, or operational readiness validation. Ability to review design documents, specifications, and test scripts for mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Proficiency with standard productivity tools such as spreadsheets, documentation platforms, and presentation software. Ability to clearly track and document issues, risks, and commissioning outcomes. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Ability to work independently while influencing and collaborating with cross-functional partners. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Technical knowledge of electrical power distribution systems. Technical knowledge of mechanical cooling systems. Technical knowledge of building automation and control systems. Familiarity with design review, testing, and commissioning workflows. Experience in data center, MEP engineering, construction management, or other mission-critical environments. Demonstrated ability to identify schedule risks early and propose practical mitigation strategies. Experience driving accountability among vendors and subcontractors, including managing action items and escalating blockers. Motivation to work on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects with high reliability and performance expectations. Curiosity, attention to detail, and a strong interest in technical challenges and continuous learning. Work Environment This role is based on-site in a technical facilities environment and requires a full-time, regular presence in the field.
