POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Development and Mission Advancement department through administrative, project, and systems coordination. This position plays a key role in supporting fundraising operations, grant coordination, donor database management, stewardship activities, events, and special projects. The Development Coordinator will work across multiple functions within the department and help ensure that timelines, materials, records, and internal processes are managed efficiently and accurately.DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates internal grant workflows from initial planning through submission. Prepares materials and supporting documentation for grant vetting and review processes. Tracks grant deadlines, requirements, submissions, and reporting schedules. Works with program staff and Finance to collect required information, supporting documents, and budget materials. Assists in outlining grant requirements, internal responsibilities, and timelines. Supports the preparation, assembly, and submission of grant applications and related materials. Maintains organized grant files, calendars, and tracking systems. Assists with foundation and government grant activity as assigned. Maintains accurate donor, prospect and fundraising records in the organization's donor database. Processes gifts, pledges, and other donor updates in a timely and accurate manner. Generates reports, lists, and queries to support fundraising, stewardship, and departmental planning. Assists with gift acknowledgments, donor correspondence, and recordkeeping. Supports data integrity efforts, including record review, clean-up, and consistent coding practices. Assists with donor and prospect research as needed. Provides administrative support to the department, including but not limited to scheduling, preparing materials, maintaining files, and coordinating follow-up items. Assists with departmental projects, mailings, presentations, and fundraising materials. Supports the planning and implementation of special events, donor stewardship efforts, and fundraising initiatives. Coordinates internal timelines and helps monitor progress on department projects and deliverables. Serves as a liaison with internal departments and external vendors, partners, and stakeholders as needed. Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds. Performs other duties as assigned. Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, business administration, or another related field required.Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in development and mission, fundraising, nonprofit administration, and/or another related field required Experience with Instrumentl and DonorPerfect preferred.Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications:

Excellent writing, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills Well organized and detail oriented Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Basic technical skills using standard office equipment, software, and online grant services. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to maintain accurate records, reporting calendars, and document activity consistently in a CRM Excellent time management and prioritization skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to navigate complex situations and escalate issues as appropriateOther Requirements:
Valid driver's license required Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is performed in-person in a standard office environment. Some travel to off-site locations for special events and projects is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours). Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax and filing cabinets. Employee is required to reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or stand on a stool as needed. Employee is required to be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
