The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is an American institution that informs and shapes public opinion and policy by serving as a trusted resource to decision makers in government, media, and policy institutions. It is also committed to developing leaders with the purpose of enhancing the political and civic participation of American Muslims. Position Overview The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) of Western New York seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Coordinator to support the organization's communications, operations, and program activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day administration, effective internal and external communication, and accurate record-keeping to advance MPAC's mission of civic engagement and community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications and Outreach Develop and design engaging outreach materials including flyers, E-digests, newsletters, and social media content. Draft and distribute organization-wide emails and public announcements.- Coordinate external communications and maintain contact lists and mailing databases. Support community relations efforts and promote MPAC programs and events. Administrative and Board Support Schedule meetings, events, and appointments for the President and the Board. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up documentation. Serve as a liaison between staff, board members, and community partners. Be the resource person for and work with Program (Grants) Manager Program and Grant Administration Assist with grant and program management including tracking deliverables and financial reports. Manage invoices, expense documentation, and related administrative records. Maintain accurate databases and support program data collection and reporting. Operational Support Support general office coordination, including organizing files and maintaining organizational documentation. Provide occasional on-site support for events or community activities. Qualifications Associates in business administration or related field or at least 3 years in relevant experience Strong writing , design, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Canva. Excellent time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Understanding of or sensitivity to issues relevant to Muslim communities and interfaith relations.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field. Experience with email marketing or CRM tools. Flexible schedule available.
