JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager II role is the standard PM role at PMD. This level is for PMs that are self-sufficient in the PMD process and have shown professional proficiency in customer management. Project Managers at this level no longer require a mentor, but may still rely on management interventions for difficult projects or customers. PM II may be asked to provide instruction to PM I employees in limited capacities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. Establish deadlines throughout the project and monitor progress. Identify and resolves issues within the project scope. Define and manage resources to reach objectives in an effective and efficient manner. Track project costs to meet the established budget. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. Provide project updates on a weekly basis to ensure schedule, scope, and budget are maintained to the internal customers. Provide bi-weekly reports to customers. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers to meet project goals. Communicate with internal and external customer to meet project needs. Prepare change orders for project changes. Release engineering documentation into the company's procurement system. Measure project performance to identify areas of improvement.
OTHER DUTIES
Observe safety procedures including but not limited to wearing proper safety equipment Other duties as necessary when requested by management within Federal and State regulations for the position
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management. Experience running at least 10 concurrent projects with a portfolio size of less tan or =$15M, and an average project size of less than or =$10M. Automation experience a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of design specifications. Knowledge of risks assessments and technical writing. Knowledge of parametric modeling, Autocad, Solidworks, and Inventor. Effective leadership skills Excellent verbal and written communication. Excellent presentation skills. Planning and organizing skills Time management skills Teamwork skills Ability to use discretion and judgement Analytical/Critical thinking skills Problem solving skills Professional integrity, drive and desire to succeed. Strong knowledge of MS Office software, including Microsoft Project. Negotiation skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Project Managers at PMD will be expected to travel for all system validations at customer sites. This is generally 1-2 weeks per project. Unless otherwise require by specific project requirements, a PM can expect to travel between 1 to 2 months per year on average. Additional travel may include project kickoff meetings at customer sites for an additional 2-3 days per project. International travel may be required so employees will be required to maintain a valid passport.
