Job Description

Job Summary The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing asphalt paving and construction projects from award through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. The Project Manager works closely with operations, estimators, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to drive successful outcomes across the Mid‑West Central Region. Main Responsibilities Manage all phases of construction projects, including pre‑construction planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closeout Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecasts Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor to support project timelines Track job costs and productivity, identify variances, and implement corrective actions Review and approve invoices, subcontractors pay applications, and change orders Assist in project buyout, cost control, and profitability analysis Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and milestones Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business Promote and enforce Barrett Paving Materials' safety policies and procedures Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent construction experience 3-7+ years of experience managing paving, asphalt, or heavy civil construction projects Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and project documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software preferred Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the Mid‑West Central Region Preferred Experience with DOT, municipal, and commercial paving projects Knowledge of asphalt production, placement, and construction methods Experience with estimating, bidding, and project handoff Skills and Competencies Strong leadership and decision‑making skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Pay:
$101,000.00 - $152,000.00 per year
