TRAVELING COMMERCIAL ROOFING PROJECT MANAGER
Engineer-Owned Commercial Roofing Company | Multi-State Operations We are a growing, engineer-owned commercial roofing company licensed and operating in multiple states , and we are looking for an experienced Traveling Commercial Roofing Project Manager to join our team. This is not a residential roofing position . We are looking for someone who understands commercial roofing, can take ownership of projects from mobilization through completion, and is comfortable traveling to projects throughout our operating territory.
ROOFING SYSTEMS
Our projects primarily involve: TPO roofing systems PVC roofing systems Modified Bitumen (Mod-Bit) roofing systems Commercial roof replacements Commercial roof repairs and restoration Insulation and cover-board systems Metal flashing, coping and edge details Roof drains and drainage systems Manufacturer-specific commercial roofing assemblies
PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for helping ensure projects are completed safely, correctly, on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
Manage commercial roofing projects from pre-construction through final completion Coordinate subcontractor and roofing crews Review project scopes, contracts, plans, specifications and manufacturer requirements Coordinate material orders, deliveries, equipment and project logistics Verify proper installation of TPO, PVC and Modified Bitumen roofing systems Monitor workmanship and quality control throughout each project Track project schedules and keep jobs moving Conduct regular site inspections Document project progress with photographs and written reports Communicate with building owners, property managers, general contractors, engineers and internal management Identify field conditions and potential change orders Document additional work before proceeding Track labor, materials and job costs Coordinate manufacturer inspections and warranty requirements Manage punch lists and project closeout Maintain organized project documentation Help resolve field problems quickly and professionally Enforce company safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Commercial roofing experience is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate should have:
Proven experience managing commercial roofing projects Working knowledge of TPO, PVC and Modified Bitumen systems Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and roofing details Understanding of commercial roofing installation procedures and manufacturer specifications Knowledge of insulation systems, fastening patterns, adhesives, heat-welded seams, flashing details, penetrations, curbs, drains, coping and edge metal Strong understanding of commercial roofing quality-control procedures Experience coordinating roofing crews and subcontractors Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Strong organizational and documentation skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to communicate professionally with customers, engineers, manufacturers and crews Ability to identify problems in the field and develop practical solutions Basic understanding of project budgets, job costing and change orders Familiarity with OSHA and commercial construction safety practices Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to pass applicable employment screening requirements Ability to work outdoors and safely access commercial roofs Ability to use ladders and perform normal physical duties associated with commercial roofing inspections Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email, photos and construction/project-management software
TRAVEL IS REQUIRED
You MUST be willing and able to travel. We are licensed and perform commercial roofing projects in multiple states . This position will require regular travel to active projects and, depending on project schedules, extended stays away from home. If you are looking for a position where you stay in one city every day, this is probably not the right opportunity.
