Assistant Project Manager -
Earthwork & Underground Utilities Location:
Eugene, Oregon Compensation:
$105,000 - $135,000 base salary , depending on experience Position Overview A well‑established general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience in earthwork and underground utility construction to support active and upcoming projects in the Eugene, OR area. This role partners closely with Project Managers and field leadership to support cost control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and day‑to‑day project execution. The ideal candidate has hands‑on exposure to civil construction projects and is ready to take on increasing responsibility within a collaborative project team. Experience Needed Experience supporting earthwork, grading, excavation, and underground utility scopes (water, sewer, storm drain) Exposure to civil construction projects such as: Site development Mass earthwork Utility installation and tie‑ins Experience assisting with: Subcontractor coordination RFIs, submittals, and change management Project scheduling and cost tracking Familiarity working alongside superintendents and field teams Experience on active construction sites with an understanding of site logistics and sequencing Qualifications Required 2-6+ years of experience in construction project management or project engineering , preferably with a civil or heavy civil contractor Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work Proficiency with construction and project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Excel, scheduling tools) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience) Benefits Included Competitive base salary ($105k-$135k) Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off and paid holidays Opportunities for career advancement and professional development Stable project backlog with local work in the Eugene area Call to Action If you're an Assistant Project Manager with a background in earthwork and underground utilities looking to grow your career with a reputable general contractor and work on meaningful local projects, we'd welcome a confidential conversation .
