Project Controls Specialist Location Boden, Sweden Assignment Type Annually Renewable Contract Contract Type Residential Working Program Monday to Friday / 8 Hours per Day About the Role Join an innovative green steel project in Boden, Sweden, with a major international engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider. As a Project Controls Specialist, you will play a pivotal part in leading planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, progress measurement, and performance reporting for large-scale construction and industrial initiatives. Your expertise in advanced project controls systems will help drive meaningful insights from complex project data, supporting high-level decision-making and ensuring projects remain on track. This position requires advanced analytical skills and deep knowledge of project controls, especially in construction environments. Key Responsibilities Take the lead as the primary cost control or planning contact for revenue projects, managing monthly cost close, financial reporting, schedule management, and performance tracking. Monitor and manage project financials, including annual budgets, funding requirements, purchase order commitments, intercompany transactions, and expenditures. Ensure consistent cost coding practices across the project team, compliant with corporate accounting standards and project-specific requirements. Conduct ad hoc cost analyses and develop scenario-based financial and schedule models to support informed decision-making and risk assessment. Contribute to annual budgeting and long-range planning, providing cost insights and historical data for future project planning. Collaborate with project managers, procurement, vendors, and finance to determine monthly accruals, validate actuals, and manage invoices. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, client requirements, and industry standards across all project controls activities.
Requirements Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Controls for construction, EPC/m, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or large capital projects. Strong working knowledge of project controls principles, methodologies, and best practices in the industry. Technical Competencies -
