  • Likeability We are looking for a highly organized, customer-focused, field-based Project Manager who can help deliver a smooth, professional, and stress-free remodeling experience for our customers.
Position Overview The Field-Based Project Manager is responsible for working with our virtual project manager to setup approved quotes to get ready for start and managing active residential remodeling projects in the field while working directly with a Virtual Project Manager based in the office. This role serves as the company's on-site representative and is responsible for ensuring projects are moving forward, subcontractors are completing assigned tasks, customers feel informed and supported, and project details are communicated clearly to the office team. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role. The right person will be able to manage multiple moving parts, visit job sites throughout the day, conduct inspections and be part of township inspections and third party inspectors and walkthroughs, coordinate subcontractors, and help create a remodeling experience where customers feel that every detail is being handled with care. The Field-Based Project Manager will typically oversee 6-10 active projects at one time within a geographic territory of approximately 30-45 miles . Key Responsibilities Field Project Management Visit active project sites throughout the day to review progress, inspect workmanship, confirm site conditions, and identify any issues that need to be addressed. Ensure each project is staying on track according to scope, schedule, quality expectations, and customer commitments. Communicating changes in additional time needed to virtual project manager to keep calendar of projects accurate at all times Subcontractor Management Manage subcontractors in the field by confirming daily tasks, reviewing completed work, answering site questions, communicating schedule expectations, and following up on incomplete or incorrect work. Ensure subcontractors understand the scope of work and are completing tasks professionally and efficiently. Work with all subcontractors to create relationships, partnerships where we help each other to be successful. Culture is a big part of this relationship, partnership is what this role is truly about with sub contractor management. Coordination With Virtual Project Manager Work closely with the office-based Virtual Project Manager to provide daily updates, site notes, photos, task completion status, subcontractor updates, customer concerns, and scheduling needs. Maintain clear and timely communication so the office team has accurate information at all times. Change Orders Work directly with the Virtual Project Manager to create and get approval on change orders as quickly as possible for all projects, ensuring our teams can continue to move forward Customer Communication and Experience Serve as a primary field contact for customers during their project. Conduct customer walkthroughs, answer questions, provide updates, address concerns, and help create confidence that their project is being professionally managed. The goal is for each customer to feel that the process is organized, cared for, and as stress-free as possible. Site Inspections and Quality Control Inspect active projects for quality, safety, cleanliness, progress, and scope accuracy. Identify problems early and communicate solutions quickly. Confirm that work meets company standards before moving to the next phase of the project. Project Documentation Document project updates using company systems, including photos, notes, task updates, material needs, subcontractor progress, customer requests, and any issues requiring follow-up. Ensure information is detailed enough for the office team, ownership, sales, and production staff to understand current project status. Scheduling and Project Flow Help coordinate the many moving parts of residential remodeling projects, including subcontractor schedules, material readiness, customer availability, inspections, change requests, punch lists, and final walkthroughs. Assist in keeping projects moving efficiently from start to finish. Final Walk Through's Scheduling ahead of time for project completion a walk through, as available with the owner. Staging the space for videos and photos, getting video testimonials from customers when possible. Gifting the customer a branded gift to thank them. Leaving the relationship open for the next project. Problem Solving Respond to field issues quickly and professionally. This may include clarifying scope, identifying missing materials, addressing customer concerns, coordinating subcontractor corrections, escalating issues to management, and helping develop solutions that protect the customer experience and company reputation. Typical Day-to-Day Duties The Field-Based Project Manager may be responsible for:
  • Visiting multiple job sites per day across the assigned territory.
  • Checking project progress and confirming that subcontractors are completing assigned tasks.
  • Uploading photos, notes, and status updates to our software
  • Meeting with customers for walkthroughs, updates, or issue resolution.
  • Reviewing work quality and creating punch lists.
  • Confirming materials, job site cleanliness, and readiness for the next phase.
  • Communicating delays, concerns, or needed decisions to the virtual project manager
  • Ensuring customers feel informed, respected, and taken care of.
  • Helping close out projects professionally with final walkthroughs and completion documentation. Qualifications Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of residential remodeling, Curiosity as to the "why" behind how homes are built and maintained. Looking for someone if you put a % on technical understanding of residential home remodeling such as framing, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tile, flooring, painting, HVAC, permits and inspections, etc
  • 30•40% competency in all these areas vs our subs might be 100% in one of these areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once across different locations.
  • Strong communication skills with customers, subcontractors, office staff, and leadership.
  • Ability to read scopes of work, project notes, basic plans, material lists, and job details.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using a laptop, cell phone, photos, email, project management software, and digital communication tools.
  • Professional appearance and customer focused attitude (customer is not always right, they just want to be heard)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory daily.
  • Must live near Phoenixville PA, we're based in Phoenixville so a large majority of our projects are close to this area Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing residential remodeling projects valued between $10,000 and $200,000.
  • Experience working with subcontractors across multiple trades.
  • Knowledge of remodeling, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, bathroom remodeling, kitchens, general contracting, or home improvement projects.
  • Experience conducting customer walkthroughs, punch lists, inspections, and project closeouts.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and communicate corrections professionally. Skills Needed for Success The ideal candidate will be:

Work Environment This is a field-based role that requires daily travel to customer homes and active project sites. The Field-Based Project Manager will spend most of the day visiting projects, meeting with customers, coordinating subcontractors, inspecting work, and communicating with the office team. Projects may vary significantly in size, complexity, duration, and trade involvement. Some projects may require light oversight, while larger or more complex projects may require more frequent site visits, detailed coordination, and customer communication. Much "admin" work will most likely be done in vehicle or on the road, meetings in person throughout the week with leadership and virtual project manager. Role Summary The Field-Based Project Manager is responsible for orchestrating the many moving parts of residential remodeling projects. This role is critical to creating a smooth customer experience, supporting subcontractor performance, maintaining project quality, and ensuring the office team has accurate daily information. The right person will take ownership of the field experience and help customers feel confident that A to Z Family Business is managing their project professionally from start to finish.
