Job Description
United States Suitability/Public Trust Fully remote Project/Program Management
- Overview
- GovCIO is currently hiring for an AI Data Analyst & Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chief AI Officer (CAIO) organization.
This position will provide data analytics, project management, and operational support across CAIO's portfolio of artificial intelligence initiatives. The AI Data Analyst & Project Manager will collect, analyze, and report data related to AI adoption, utilization, performance, operational impact, and outcomes while also supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of priority CAIO initiatives. The position will work directly with CAIO leadership, initiative leads, technical teams, and stakeholders across VA to track priorities, coordinate deliverables, identify risks and dependencies, and advance AI-related projects from planning through execution. This role requires an individual who can move effectively between data analysis, project management, executive support, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced and evolving AI environment. This position will be fully remote within the United States.
- Responsibilities
- The AI Data Analyst & Project Manager supports CAIO's enterprise AI measurement, program management, and operational activities.
The position will serve as a flexible resource supporting CAIO leadership and initiative leads across data, project management, reporting, and other priority AI functions. Data Analytics & Reporting
+ Collect, organize, analyze, and validate data from multiple AI programs, products, platforms, and initiatives across VA.
+ Develop and maintain standardized metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI adoption, utilization, performance, outcomes, and organizational impact.
+ Develop dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visualizations that provide leadership with visibility into AI initiatives and performance.
+ Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring leadership attention.
+ Partner with initiative owners to establish consistent metric definitions, reporting standards, methodologies, and data-collection processes.
+ Evaluate data quality and identify gaps, inconsistencies, or limitations affecting reporting and decision-making.
+ Translate complex data and technical findings into clear insights and recommendations for executive and non-technical audiences.
+ Support ad hoc analysis and data requests associated with executive reporting, congressional inquiries, strategic planning, and other CAIO priorities. Project & Program Management
+ Provide project management support for priority CAIO initiatives, projects, and workstreams.
+ Partner with CAIO leadership and initiative leads to develop project plans, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and measures of success.
+ Track actions, decisions, dependencies, risks, issues, and deadlines across assigned initiatives.
+ Coordinate activities and deliverables across technical, policy, governance, communications, data, and operational teams.
+ Facilitate working sessions, project meetings, and stakeholder discussions and ensure decisions and action items are documented and followed through to completion.
+ Identify project risks, barriers, and dependencies and proactively elevate issues requiring leadership attention.
+ Develop and maintain project trackers, status reports, roadmaps, briefing materials, and other program-management artifacts.
+ Support leadership with recurring portfolio and initiative status reporting. CAIO Program & Operational Support
+ Provide cross-functional support to CAIO leadership and staff on emerging AI priorities and initiatives.
+ Support planning, research, coordination, documentation, and implementation activities for AI programs that may extend beyond the position's primary data responsibilities.
+ Assist initiative leads with developing business requirements, implementation plans, measurement strategies, stakeholder engagement approaches, and other program needs.
+ Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to advance CAIO priorities and resolve outstanding actions.
+ Support development and improvement of CAIO processes, workflows, governance structures, and operating procedures.
+ Conduct research and analysis related to emerging AI technologies, policies, use cases, and federal requirements as needed.
+ Support development of executive briefings, presentations, decision materials, and other leadership products.
+ Adapt to evolving organizational priorities and provide analytical, project management, and operational support where needed across the CAIO portfolio.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
- Required Skills and Experience
- + Experience performing data analysis, business intelligence, performance measurement, program analysis, or a related analytical function.
+ Experience providing project or program management support for complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage projects, deliverables, dependencies, risks, action items, and deadlines.
+ Demonstrated ability to collect, clean, validate, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources.
+ Experience developing metrics, KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, or recurring performance reports.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to translate complex technical, analytical, or program information into clear recommendations and materials for leadership.
+ Experience coordinating across technical, business, operational, and executive stakeholders.
+ Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and shift between analytical, project management, and operational responsibilities.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and project management or collaboration tools.
+ Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Clearance Required :
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
- Preferred Skills and Experience
- + Experience supporting artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, digital transformation, or emerging technology programs.
+ Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal government agency.
+ Experience supporting enterprise-level programs or portfolios consisting of multiple concurrent initiatives.
+ Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Tableau, or similar analytics and visualization tools.
+ Experience developing measurement frameworks for technology adoption, product utilization, operational performance, or organizational outcomes.
+ Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, AI adoption, or federal AI policy.
+ Experience supporting senior executives and developing executive-level briefings, dashboards, reports, or decision materials.
+ Experience establishing or improving project management, reporting, or operational processes.
+ Familiarity with Agile, traditional project management, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
+ PMP, CAPM, Agile, or other relevant project/program management certification.
+ Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

- USD $140,000.00
