We're a tight-knit team where everyone wears multiple hats, projects move fast, and good people grow into bigger roles. The Role The Assistant Project Manager (APM) works closely with our Project Managers, Project Coordinator, and VP of Projects to keep complex installations on schedule and on budget. This is a hybrid role designed for someone who wants to grow into a full Project Manager. You'll learn the equipment, the systems, the customers, and the trade. You'll be supported in pursuing industry knowledge and given real ownership over projects as you ramp up. This is a great fit for someone who is highly organized, comfortable juggling many open threads, and energized by a mix of office work, active jobsites, and some flexibility to work from home (typically 1-2 days per week once you're up and running). What You'll Do In the office Support Project Managers with day-to-day project administration — printing drawings, cutbooks, submittals, and maintaining project files Build and maintain SmartSheet reports: Project Reports, BOLs, delivery reports, individual PM job boards, procurement logs, punch lists, and 3rd-party receiving logs Roll out global updates to project report templates and become a key knowledge center for our use of SmartSheet Assist the VP of Projects with plan reviews, building the skill to read K-drawings independently over time Serve as backup for the Project Coordinator when needed (project hand-off meetings, drawing reviews, procurement logs) Facilitate end-of-job demos and startups with manufacturers and coordinate pre-site surveys Help close out jobs: warranty letters, manuals, service handoffs to the Service Coordinator Support accounting and the warehouse on receiving discrepancies and missing items In the field Visit jobsites with PMs to assist with layout, dimension verification, and 2-person tasks Cover site visits or meetings on a PM's behalf when appropriate Attend equipment demos at the end of projects, learn from manufacturer reps, and help transition projects from PM back to Sales and Service Travel occasionally to vendor test kitchens or industry events What We're Looking For Required 1-3 years of project coordination, project administration, or comparable experience (foodservice equipment, construction, millwork, or installation industries are a strong plus) Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing many concurrent threads without dropping the ball Comfortable in Microsoft Office (Excel especially) and willing to become a power user of SmartSheet Clear written and verbal communication — you'll interact daily with vendors, customers, installers, and internal teams Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to jobsites primarily in Massachusetts and sometimes surrounding New England Self-starter mindset and a clear interest in growing into a Project Manager role over time Nice to have Familiarity with commercial foodservice equipment, kitchens, or commercial construction Comfort reading construction or architectural drawings OSHA-10 (or willingness to obtain it) Growth & Training This role is a path to a full Project Manager position. We support industry training, manufacturer trainings, and credentials so the right person can grow into more ownership over time.
