Projectthe Campaign Project Manager Position Summary Democrats for the Illinois House is the political armof the House Democratic Caucus. We are seeking a skilled Campaign Project Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing campaign initiatives from conception to completion. This role serves as the operational hub of the campaign, ensuring that communications, field, digital, finance, and political teams remain aligned, on schedule, and accountable for deliverables. The Campaign Project Manager manages timelines, budgets, vendors, and internal workflows to ensure successful execution of campaign goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution Develop and maintain comprehensive campaign work plans, timelines, and project schedules. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure deadlines and campaign objectives are met. Track deliverables and identify potential risks or obstacles to execution. Lead regular project status meetings and provide progress updates to campaign leadership. Establish and maintain project management systems and workflows. Operations & Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact between departments, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders. Coordinate campaign events, voter outreach initiatives, advertising launches, and fundraising activities. Ensure resources are allocated efficiently across campaign priorities. Manage vendor contracts, invoices, and project budgets. Strategic Planning Work closely with campaign leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable plans. Monitor project performance and recommend process improvements. Support rapid-response efforts during critical campaign moments. Assist in developing campaign calendars and milestone tracking systems. Budget & Resource Management Track project expenses and ensure initiatives remain within budget. Coordinate procurement of campaign materials and services. Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance. Reporting & Accountability Prepare regular reports on project status, timelines, budgets, and outcomes. Maintain documentation of campaign activities and decisions. Develop dashboards and tracking tools to monitor progress against goals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in political campaigns, government, advocacy, labor, or nonprofit organizations. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Preferred Skills Experience with project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Airtable, or Smartsheet. Familiarity with campaign operations, voter engagement, fundraising, and communications. Budget management and vendor coordination experience. Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights. PMP certification or project management training is a plus. Key Success Metrics Projects completed on time and within budget. Effective coordination across campaign departments.
