Remote Cost Analyst (00591) PMA Consultants LLC $71,038.00 - $83,470.00 / yr 401(k) United States, Jersey, South Plainfield Jul 31, 2026 PMA is currently seeking a Cost Analyst for an exclusive assignment to work on a portfolio of high-profile utility projects. Our Cost Analyst position is an excellent entree into project controls and project management. The Cost Analyst supports cost management and project controls activities across engineering and construction projects. This role works with cross-functional teams to analyze costs, prepare reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify opportunities to improve project cost performance. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively. Position Responsibilities Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance. Review change orders, contracts, and payment applications. Perform cost analysis, variance reporting, and earned value tracking. Develop cost estimates and supports risk-based cost strategies. Prepare and present cost reports and project cashflows to project stakeholders. Support the use of project controls and cost management systems. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. 0+ Years of experience in some combination of cost control or financial data analysis required. Experience with MS Word and PowerPoint preferred. Experience with databases and reporting preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Interest in construction, engineering, and project controls. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of stated minimum qualifications. The salary range for this position is $71,038 to $83,470. A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location. Physical:
Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive:
Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
