HVAC Project Manager Location:
Oskaloosa, IA Job Summary:
The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the service division, including field operations, team performance, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and sales acumen. The Service Manager will drive service-related sales, identify growth opportunities, and ensure the delivery of high-quality HVAC solutions to residential and/or commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the HVAC service department, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with company objectives Supervise, coach, and develop service technicians and support staff to maximize performance, productivity, and engagement Manage scheduling, dispatching, and workflow to ensure timely and efficient service delivery Drive revenue growth by actively managing and expanding service sales, including maintenance agreements, repairs, and system upgrades/replacements Identify and capitalize on service-to-sales opportunities, partnering with the sales team to convert leads into projects Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction Ensure compliance with all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies Provide advanced technical guidance and support for complex service issues and escalations Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention Oversee inventory management, equipment readiness, and fleet coordination Prepare and present regular performance, financial, and sales reports to senior leadership Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and profitability
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HVAC service, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role Demonstrated success in driving service-related sales and achieving revenue targets Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, diagnostics, and repair Proven leadership, team building, and performance management skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management abilities Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency in service management, dispatch, and CRM software systems Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Possession of a State of Iowa Mechanical License, or an equivalent license recognized by the state, is required
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA Certification (required for handling refrigerants) NATE Certification or equivalent industry credentials Experience managing both residential and commercial HVAC service operations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Hybrid role involving both office-based management and field support Ability to occasionally lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in varying environmental conditions Availability for on-call or after-hours support as business needs require
