Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee construction and major maintenance projects for electric utility infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing projects from planning through completion while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage construction and major maintenance projects involving transmission and distribution substations, transmission lines, fiber optic infrastructure, telecommunications facilities, buildings, warehouses, and related assets. Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, contractor activities, quality standards, safety requirements, and overall project performance. Prepare Environmental Reports (ERs) and coordinate environmental permitting in accordance with RUS, NEPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution. Review contractor proposals, assist with bid evaluations, resolve project issues, and ensure successful project completion. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred from an ABET-accredited program. Four (4) to nine (9) years of experience in the utility or construction industry, including at least two (2) years of Project Management or Construction Management experience. Working knowledge of project management principles, utility construction practices, budgeting, contractor management, and regulatory compliance. Experience with RUS standards, NEPA, environmental permitting, electric cooperatives, or utility infrastructure is highly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered. Preferred Attributes Stable work history with demonstrated project ownership. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with contractor bidding, project budgeting, and utility infrastructure projects is a plus.
