Job Title:
Project Manager - Autonomous Trucking Operations Job Description This Project Manager role focuses on asset management, logistics, and operational execution to support the development and scale-up of commercial autonomous trucking operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring fleet readiness, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day operational excellence as autonomous trucks are deployed nationwide. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Product Operations, Hardware, Safety, Policy, Legal, and external partners to align priorities, remove blockers, and drive high-impact initiatives tied to fleet management and commercialization. Responsibilities Create, propose, and implement new processes and standard operating procedures related to asset registration, compliance, fleet operations, and logistics. Manage projects end-to-end across asset management and commercial truck operations, driving execution, accountability, and continuous improvement. Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and operational blockers, and recommend and implement process improvements to address them. Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Product Operations, Hardware, Safety, Policy, and Legal, to define and drive solutions for operational and logistical challenges. Lead and facilitate recurring stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear agendas, documented follow-ups, and measurable outcomes. Interface with external vendors to coordinate required documentation and compliance materials, vehicle transportation and logistics, and maintenance and fleet-related services. Provide regular project updates, metrics, and reporting to leadership and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment. Support day-to-day asset management activities, including maintenance scheduling, triage of operational issues and audits, and preparation of monthly asset and compliance reports. Ensure fleet readiness and operational discipline in support of nationwide deployment of autonomous trucks. Maintain a safety-focused approach in all project and operational decisions, balancing speed of execution with compliance and risk management. Essential Skills Several years of experience in operations, asset management, logistics, or fleet operations. Experience working in autonomous vehicles, transportation, or logistics-heavy environments is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, risk management, and continuous improvement. Lean Six Sigma experience, with the ability to apply process improvement methodologies to operational workflows. Strong proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Suite) and Microsoft Office. Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and operationally disciplined mindset. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional partners. Ability to operate with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in time-critical situations. Comfort making decisions and being accountable for outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Strong judgment regarding when to escalate issues versus when to resolve them independently. Ability to connect the big picture across safety, operations, testing, and product delivery to ensure cohesive execution. Foundational understanding of project management principles and best practices. Experience using tools such as Jira for task and project tracking. Experience using Fleetio or similar fleet management systems. Experience using Lucidchart or other process-mapping tools. Strong organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in logistics-heavy or transportation-focused operations environments. Experience supporting commercialization or scale-up of new technology or complex operational programs. Exposure to safety, policy, and compliance workflows in regulated operational environments. Comfort working in a cross-functional setting with Product, Hardware, Safety, Policy, and Legal teams. Interest in autonomous vehicle technology and its operational deployment. Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on building scalable processes and standard operating procedures.
