Job Description:
Rights & Permitting Agent Contract-to-Hire Hybrid - Dorchester, MA We are looking for a Rights & Permitting Specialist to join the team of a Fortune 500 Utility Company. This person will be responsible for directing the securing of all right of way easements necessary for distribution and transmission projects and for supporting the acquisition of land required for the construction of facilities. This position will act as primary contact for municipalities and represents engineering, construction and financial interests relating to proposed municipal projects.
Responsibilities:
Support the process for obtaining municipal permits, approvals, and right?of?way easements for overhead and underground projects. Coordinate with municipalities, government agencies, and internal partners to support permitting and compliance requirements. Assist with research and documentation related to property ownership, easements, and land use. Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to communicate municipal requirements and support project execution. Track permitting activities, documentation, and project status to support timelines and compliance. Provide administrative and billing support for permitting?related projects, attachments, and licenses as needed. Participate in training and development opportunities, including the Elevate program, to build utility?specific permitting knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or related field 1+ years of experience supporting or working within municipal permitting, easements, land use, zoning, or grant coordination Familiarity with municipal permitting processes and working with city or town departments Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel What's In It For You?
