The company has expertise in all aspects of electrical distribution design including residential and commercial projects, utility system improvements, solar, and complex network design. Job Description:
The position responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope as well as oversee all aspects of the project's lifecycle. The role also includes managing relevant employees, setting deadlines, assigning project tasks, and monitoring and summarizing project progress, by reporting to key stakeholders and upper management regarding the status of all assigned projects.
Primary Duties:
Develop and manage project timeline for all deliverables that are required for each project which include creating long- and short-term plans, including setting target dates for milestones, adhering to project deadlines, and properly allocating resources. Manage the execution of project tasks, engage appropriate internal and external key stakeholders, and proactively acknowledge roadblocks. Develop and manage the framework used to create reports and monitor projects to meet deadlines. Develop and manage project budgets Ensure project data is accurately managed and stored, including but not limited to, applications for service, field data, project calculations, feasibility studies, designs, invoices, and project close-out information. Coordinating and facilitating decisions by managing multiple stakeholders. Develop and efficiently make decisions by identifying and managing potential project risks and liabilities. Assist in obtaining client requirements and relevant data to ensure projects are progressing and completed according to project timelines and schedules. Address client complaints, concerns, or requests in a suitable manner. Serve as the project main point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure projects are progressing accordingly. Assist with RFP/BID packages and prepare design and construction documents including but not limited to; engineering scope of work, project schedule, permit management, equipment and material procurement, construction management, reporting and document control. Meet and coordinate with clients to review project deliverables, record meeting minutes, and ensure projects are completed as scheduled. Perform quality control on project milestones throughout the project lifecycle to ensure standards and guidelines are maintained. Adjust and report schedule revisions and targets date as needed.
Position Requirements:
Minimum:
Project Management Professional Certified Experience working on Exelon's systems Bachelor's degree in Project management/ Business/ Engineering. 2-4 years of utility company experience or equivalent external experience, including advance degree achievements. Proven working experience in project management. Exposure to project management principles and methodology Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and multitasking skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience managing large projects and multiple projects concurrently. Possess the ability to guide and manage design consultants. Identify and direct key stakeholders and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theories. Knowledge of engineering with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installation, or services. Demonstrated knowledge of operating and construction work practices. Demonstrated ability to support and enforce a safe work behavior; requires working knowledge of safety rules and regulations. Knowledge, understanding, and experience of Electric Utility Engineering practices. Ability to independently represent the Company in various industry, regulatory forums, and stakeholder meetings. Ability to perform highly complex analysis; formulate recommendations to improve current processes; make sound decisions; understand industry and regulatory trends; evaluate impact of new developments and information involving market conditions. Ability and willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required. Ability and willingness to adhere to Federal, State, Local and company safety regulations and policies. Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time (for example, lifting, entering/existing manhole covers, climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting). Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including outdoors in all weather conditions, on or around energized equipment, in confined spaces, underground, in heavy traffic and in noisy and dirty environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment. Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and work sites. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must pass the Criminal History Background Check which consists of a 7-year criminal record for felony convictions. Must successfully pass a medical screening to include drug test.
Preferred:
Master's degree in project management/Business/Engineering Experience in the Energy Field, specifically Solar, DER renewables, and energy storage. Experience with Utility Distribution and Transmission Renewable Energy interconnections standards, procedures, and requirements. Experience with Solar helioscope and Single Line Designs. Experience with manage large solar and utility construction projects. Project Management Professional (PMP). Six or more years of professional engineering experience. Experience with Primavera P6. Experience with Microsoft Project. Lean Six Sigma Experience. Experience with AutoCAD and/or design software.
