Project Manager Job Description This Project Manager role focuses on supporting capital projects by coordinating planning, engineering, design, and construction activities from initiation through completion. The position works closely with a Project Management Supervisor and Client Sponsor to develop and validate project work plans, monitor performance against schedule and budget, and provide clear, data-driven reporting. The successful candidate will help ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established internal processes and business objectives. Responsibilities Assist the Project Management Supervisor and Client Sponsor in formulating and validating project work plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Monitor the performance of planning, engineering, design, and construction activities to ensure alignment with approved project plans. Gather, analyze, and interpret project data to report on progress, scheduled deliverables, and budget status. Make recommendations to the Project Management Supervisor and Client Sponsor to address project issues, inefficiencies, and concerns. Support the project team in developing and defining project scope documents, schedules, deliverables, and cost estimates. Coordinate with supply chain teams and project stakeholders to ensure materials and equipment are delivered in accordance with the project schedule. Oversee the bid process when required, including supporting bid evaluations and ensuring contractors adhere to system safety processes. Hold contractors accountable for compliance with established safety processes and project requirements. Coordinate construction activities with the client's project team to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and quality expectations. Coordinate all activities required for successful installation of assigned projects under the supervision of the Program Manager and/or Client Sponsor. Collaborate with client leadership to determine reporting requirements and provide timely, accurate reports at agreed intervals to support business needs. Oversee and ensure adherence to the client's internal project management processes, standards, and documentation requirements. Support cost tracking, cost analysis, and re-projections to maintain accurate project budgets and financial forecasts. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering (Engineering degrees must be from an ABET-accredited university). Two to five years of experience in project management with capital projects. Two to five years of experience interfacing with engineering, procurement, and construction personnel. Two to five years of experience using Microsoft Excel. Two to five years of experience using Microsoft Word. Demonstrated experience with project budgets, including projections, cost tracking, cost analysis, and re-projections. Experience in construction management and coordination of construction activities. Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including planning, engineering, design, construction, and supply chain. Strong analytical skills for interpreting project data and preparing progress and financial reports. Ability to oversee and support bid processes and contractor oversight, including safety compliance. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and preparing project documentation. Ability to follow and enforce internal project management processes and standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on capital projects in environments that involve engineering, construction, or industrial settings. Familiarity with system safety processes and contractor safety oversight. Experience coordinating with supply chain or procurement teams to align material and equipment deliveries with project schedules. Experience preparing and presenting project status reports to leadership and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across various project phases. Attention to detail in project documentation, cost tracking, and schedule management. Ability to work effectively under the guidance of a Project Management Supervisor, Program Manager, and Client Sponsor while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. Work Environment The Project Manager works in a professional project-based environment that involves regular coordination with planning, engineering, design, construction, and supply chain teams. The role requires frequent use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to manage project budgets, schedules, and reports. Work typically involves a combination of office-based activities, such as data analysis and reporting, and collaboration with construction and engineering personnel supporting capital projects. The position emphasizes adherence to structured internal project management processes and system safety practices while engaging with multiple stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.
