This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of assigned projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring plans are clear, compliant, and aligned with strategic goals. This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.
What you will be doing:
Collaborate with supervisor or senior project manager to define high-level workload plans. Develop and maintain day-to-day project plans aligned with program roadmaps. Document project details clearly for stakeholders and ensure alignment across teams. Facilitate team understanding and ownership of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Lead or support project work plan sessions using Microsoft tools and update statuses in the Portfolio Management system. Gain consensus and approvals on project estimates and timelines; adjust plans as needed based on evolving requirements. Partner with technical and business teams to estimate and review analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation activities. Ensure deliverables follow standards and support overall strategic goals. Review project artifacts at key stage gates to ensure policy and procedural compliance. Identify risks and communicate them to appropriate audiences; help drive mitigation plans. Support or manage project budgets in line with organizational guidelines. Establish budget needs, usage guidelines, and fee structures for assigned projects where assigned. Monitor adherence to financial plans or explain deviations with clarity and accuracy.What we need from you:
Understanding of basic Project Management principles and governance such as PMI certification or relevant work experience Experience applying project methodologies (such as Waterfall or Iterative) to deliver results, especially in hardware deployment projects. Ability to understand, communicate, and present project strategies, roadmaps, and timelines to both technical and business audiences. Skill in organizing and facilitating project work plan sessions, developing timelines, and maintaining accurate status updates. Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion on time and on budget. Willingness to question assumptions, evaluate deliverables critically, and assertively challenge when needed. Ability to identify and manage project risks effectively Consistent application of project standards and preparation for project reviews and stage gate meetings. Strong learning mindset, with interest in emerging technologies and trends in the exhibition and IT industries. What we also value (preferred): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 2+ years of professional experience in a project management or coordination role. Experience presenting and explaining complex technical topics to various stakeholders. Experience managing hardware deployment projects with budgets of at least $100,000.Minimum qualifications:
