JOB DESCRIPTION MISSION
The West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services (WVFRIS) serves as the network of rape crisis centers in West Virginia to coordinate and develop comprehensive intervention and prevention services in the areas of sexual violence, stalking and sex trafficking.
Overview:
The Rural Project Outreach Services Coordinator will work to design and implement services for sexual violence and stalking victims of special populations, and provide targeted training and technical assistance to advocates and allied professionals in serving those victims. These populations would include marginalized populations (particularly those in rural areas, older adults, and people with disabilities).
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must possess experience in the provision of victim advocacy, preferably in rural communities. Experience in providing advocacy with older adults and people with disabilities preferred.
Location Requirements:
Remote, but must be a resident of West Virginia and available during the standard workweek. Some work travel to provide support, trainings and for meetings is required.
Hours of Work:
Full Time Position:
Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
Responsibilities:
The Rural Outreach Services Coordinator will:
  • Assist each of the eight advocates in coordinating annual SART trainings.
  • Convene quarterly meetings/trainings of the Rural Advocate Network (RAN)
  • Compile resources and conduct capacity-building activities at the Rural Advocacy Network quarterly meetings.
  • Assist the advocates and SARTs in continuing to implement transition plans for accessible services created in the current project year and expand to include ALL.
  • Facilitate an advocate listserv.
  • Take the coordinational role for the planning team for the development of four project products on abuse in later life: compendium of resources, poster and brochure; marketing and outreach guide.
  • Conduct annual webinars on utilizing social and electronic media to increase awareness of services.
  • Assist the advocates and SARTs in their prevention efforts, specifically in expanding their prevention action plans to include abuse in later life.
  • Assist the SARTs in self-assessing (for internal purposes only) the inclusivity of services provided.
  • Assist the SARTs in creating asset maps for services to older adults.
  • Review monthly reports from the participating rape crisis centers and review invoices/supporting documentation for payment.
  • Provide the necessary technical assistance to the advocates for the successful implementation of the project.
  • Compile the data required for the OVW semi-annual narrative grant reports.
  • Attend OVW-sponsored and approved trainings.
Perform other related duties as assigned by WVFRIS Co-Executive Directors.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
