The e2i program is seeking a driven and adaptable Student Project Manager to lead cross-functional student teams through real-world client projects. Student Project Managers contribute to e2i's success by guiding interdisciplinary teams through real-world projects. To succeed in this role, you will combine your understanding of client needs with a strong organizational, planning, and leadership capabilities. As a Student Project Manager, you will commit to working with us until May 2027 and will be paid $16 per hour. This hybrid role is expected to work approximately 8-12 hours per project assigned. Success in the Role A successful Student Project Manager keeps the project organized, keeps stakeholders informed, maintains accurate records, supports the team effectively, and helps the project progress with clarity, consistency, and professionalism. About e2i: Education 2 Impact (e2i) offers students the opportunity to work within interdisciplinary teams while gaining paid, hands-on experience. Projects are provided by external companies or internal UVU departments, and teams are assembled to work under the guidance of a student project manager to complete these projects, mirroring real-world industry practices. We bridge the gap between higher education and the professional workforce, and we're driven by three core goals: student empowerment, high-quality project outcomes, and exceptional client experiences. Each project typically lasts between 8 and 12 weeks, giving team members condensed, high-impact professional experience. Project Lifespan & Execution Maintain the Project Workbook and related project records so that project status, decisions, risks, actions, and next steps are current and visible. Lead project execution after project handoff, using the approved charter, backlog, and project documentation as the basis for planning and coordination. Maintain and update the project backlog, ensuring tasks are clearly defined and prioritized. Manage project scope and budget, protecting boundaries while delivering maximum value within approved hours. Contribute to project closeout by ensuring documentation is complete, deliverables are organized, and lessons learned are captured. Team Leadership Support team performance by clarifying expectations, coordinating responsibilities, mentoring team members, and helping maintain accountability. Hold the team to a quality-first standard, ensuring deliverables meet acceptance criteria before client review. Use feedback, evaluation, and reflection to improve judgement, communication, leadership, and project management practice over time. Coordinate project activities, meetings, follow-ups, and communication across the client, team, and program stakeholders, ensuring a reliable project cadence. Communication & Client Engagement Manage client expectations by communicating clearly, confirming decisions, surfacing issues early, and following through on commitments. Use active listening and targeted questions to identify underlying project risks or ambiguous requirements. Keep meetings, emails, and documentation focused on project value and objective facts. Ensure project artifacts, drafts, meeting notes, feedback, and deliverables are collected, organized, and stored appropriately Risk Management & Adaptability Track project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, changes, and escalate material concerns to the Senior Project Manager (SPM) or e2i leadership when needed. Proactively identify and adjust project plans and team direction when scope or constraints shift unexpectedly to mitigate bottlenecks. Must be able to attend weekly in-person meetings, Mondays from 3-4 PM Must be a current student at Utah Valley University. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Prior experience leading a team, project, or group effort (academic, professional, or extracurricular). Ability to commit to working with us until May 2027. Comfortable communicating directly with clients, faculty mentors, and student team members.
