Job Description
Join a growing engineering team delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Virginia. This is a senior leadership position with a strong focus on project delivery, client engagement, and business development within the municipal market. The role You will act as a key point of contact for municipal clients across Virginia, leading project delivery from early planning through to construction while supporting growth initiatives in an expanding regional market. Responsibilities
Lead water and wastewater projects including planning, design, permitting, and construction services
Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers and project staff
Coordinate with technical specialists and delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
Oversee preparation of design documents, drawings, and technical specifications
Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk
Deliver planning studies, programme analysis, and technical reports
Build and maintain client relationships with municipalities and public sector stakeholders
Support business development efforts including proposals, strategic planning, and market growth initiatives
Collaborate with commercial teams on RFP responses and opportunity pursuits
Stay active in the industry through professional organisations, conferences, and technical development Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
Strong project management experience delivering design and construction projects
PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders Preferred experience
Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) licence
Experience delivering projects within Virginia or similar regulatory environments
Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as design-build or CMAR Additional information
