Job Description

Join a growing engineering team delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Virginia. This is a senior leadership position with a strong focus on project delivery, client engagement, and business development within the municipal market. The role You will act as a key point of contact for municipal clients across Virginia, leading project delivery from early planning through to construction while supporting growth initiatives in an expanding regional market. Responsibilities
  • Lead water and wastewater projects including planning, design, permitting, and construction services
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers and project staff
  • Coordinate with technical specialists and delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Oversee preparation of design documents, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk
  • Deliver planning studies, programme analysis, and technical reports
  • Build and maintain client relationships with municipalities and public sector stakeholders
  • Support business development efforts including proposals, strategic planning, and market growth initiatives
  • Collaborate with commercial teams on RFP responses and opportunity pursuits
  • Stay active in the industry through professional organisations, conferences, and technical development Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Strong project management experience delivering design and construction projects
  • PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders Preferred experience
  • Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence
  • Experience delivering projects within Virginia or similar regulatory environments
  • Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as design-build or CMAR Additional information
