Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of commercial HVAC projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role is responsible for driving schedule, budget and quality performance, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing subcontractors and vendors, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate combines deep mechanical knowledge with strong commercial project management skills to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end project delivery for commercial HVAC projects including preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.

Develop, maintain and manage project schedules, forecasts and recovery plans to meet milestones and contract requirements.

Prepare, review and manage project budgets, cost reports, cash flow projections and financial forecasting to meet profitability targets.

Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and contract clarifications; ensure timely responses and proper documentation.

Review contract documents, drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and compliance with design intent and code requirements.

Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors and internal field teams to drive productivity and maintain quality standards.

Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; implement corrective actions to resolve schedule, cost or quality issues.

Lead and facilitate client, design team and owner meetings; maintain strong client relationships and ensure clear communication of project status.

Ensure adherence to safety programs and quality control processes on-site and across the project team.

Mentor and develop junior project staff and field leaders; foster a collaborative, results-driven team environment.

Drive closeout activities including punch lists, commissioning, as-built documentation and final invoicing to achieve timely project completion.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 8+ years of progressive HVAC project management experience on commercial construction projects; experience as a CAM or in a combined construction/account management role is strongly preferred.

Proven track record managing project financials: budgeting, forecasting, cost control and change order management.

Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment and construction methods; ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Demonstrated experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders and contract administration.

Proficient in scheduling and forecasting tools and methodologies, and comfortable producing and managing recovery schedules.

Excellent leadership, communication and client management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and negotiate with subcontractors and clients.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project or equivalent).Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to make decisions under pressure.

Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM or equivalent are a plus; valid drivers license and ability to travel to regional project sites as required.
