Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description The Project Manager oversees roofing projects from contract award through closeout, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role combines traditional project management responsibilities with on-site superintendent duties and requires regular presence in the field to coordinate crews and directly supervise construction activities across residential and commercial projects. Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of roofing projects, including detailed planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout. Review contracts, scopes of work, plans, and specifications to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of project requirements. Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, tracking costs and profitability throughout the project. Procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in a timely and cost-effective manner to support project timelines. Prepare and submit project documentation, including change orders, requests for information (RFIs), pay applications, and closeout materials. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities, including the work of field crews and subcontractors, to maintain safety, quality, and productivity. Identify project risks and issues early and proactively develop and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget. Monitor work in the field to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. Support a safe work environment by reinforcing safety practices and ensuring adherence to applicable safety guidelines on site. Essential Skills Proven experience in construction project management with a focus on roofing or related construction projects. Hands-on experience in construction and construction management, including on-site supervision responsibilities. Knowledge of residential construction practices and processes. Knowledge of commercial construction practices and processes. Experience working with or as a general contractor and coordinating with subcontractors. Strong subcontractor management skills, including selection, coordination, and performance oversight. Ability to read and interpret contracts, scopes of work, plans, and specifications. Proficiency in developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts. Ability to prepare and manage project documentation such as change orders, RFIs, pay applications, and closeout packages. Strong communication and coordination skills to serve as the primary point of contact for multiple stakeholders. Ability to oversee on-site construction activities and perform superintendent duties in the field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in both residential and commercial roofing projects is highly beneficial. Experience working with general contractors, owners, and suppliers on multi-party construction projects. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks early and implement effective solutions. Solid organizational skills and attention to detail in managing documentation and project records. Work Environment This is an on-site role that requires regular presence at active roofing project locations. The Project Manager works directly in the field, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and suppliers in a construction environment. The position involves frequent interaction with owners, general contractors, and internal teams, as well as time spent reviewing plans and documentation in an office or job trailer setting. The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and effective coordination of residential and commercial construction activities. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr. competitive salaries (DOE), performance-based bonuses, and health insurance packages Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Sioux Falls,SD.
