Lead Technician Renew Exterior Lighting Chattanooga, TN Full-time, Year-round Pay:

Please read before applying Renew Exterior Lighting is a local outdoor lighting company based in Chattanooga, TN. We specialize in landscape lighting, permanent lighting, holiday lighting, and patio/bistro lighting. We are not a massive company, but we have a strong team and a good reputation. We do not have to hire for this position often because people tend to stay with us. Our current Project Manager has been with us for over 3 years and is preparing to leave for the military, so we are looking for someone to step into a major role and grow with the company. This is not a normal technician job We are hiring someone with the expectation that they will become a Project Manager. If you already have the qualifications and experience to step into a Project Manager role, you will be paid at that level. Even if you start by doing lower-level tasks while learning our company, you will still be paid based on the value and experience you bring. If you show strong potential to become a Project Manager but are missing some skills, we may start you at a lower rate and promote you as you grow into the role. To be clear, we are not trying to hire someone to stay a technician. We are looking for someone who can learn our systems, products, services, and processes so they are ready to help lead by our busy season in September. The right person may help with: Leading install crews Training technicians Scheduling jobs Ordering materials Preparing routes Talking with clients Managing projects Solving field problems Improving systems You must be comfortable with heights This is extremely important. We do a lot of holiday lighting and permanent lighting installations that involve ladders, roofs, leaning over edges, and working with exposure. If roofs, ladders, heights, or exposure make you uncomfortable, this is not the right position. No one here is above any job This role has real leadership potential, but we are still a growing company. That means everyone helps wherever needed. Some days you may lead a crew. Some days you may schedule jobs or order materials. Some days you may install lights. Some days you may clean the warehouse, prepare Christmas lights, put out yard signs, spray weeds, weed eat around the shop, or help clean up. If you are the type of person who says, "That's not my job," this is not the right fit. If you see what needs to be done and jump in to help, you may fit in well here. Schedule This is a full-time, year-round position. From February through September , the schedule is more flexible. We still expect 40 hours per week, but this is the easier time of year to take vacations or request time off. From September through mid-December , we are in our busiest season. You should expect overtime. This is when leadership, organization, and problem-solving matter most. We do not work many weekends. During busy season, we may work a few Saturdays, but weekends are not a major part of our schedule. In January , we focus on holiday lighting takedowns. We usually start around 8 AM and work until around 6 PM. Who we are looking for The right person is: A strong problem solver Comfortable leading people Organized and reliable On time Good with tools Comfortable working outdoors Comfortable with heights Good with basic computer work Able to do basic math Able to communicate professionally Able to handle a lot of moving parts Willing to do whatever needs to be done We especially like people who are adventurous and enjoy the outdoors. Rock climbers, hikers, cavers, rafters, slackliners, and hands-on people often fit our culture well. Requirements Valid driver's license Decent driving record No DUIs Ability to pass a background check No violent crimes No theft-related crimes Comfortable working on ladders and roofs Basic computer skills Basic math skills Leadership experience or clear leadership ability Location Our shop is located off Rossville Boulevard in Chattanooga, TN . Final note We are not looking for someone seasonal. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us for years. This position can grow from Lead Technician into Project Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, or possibly even managing a future location one day.
