Full Job Description Position Details:
Texas-based assignment with compensation ranging from $65 to $120 hourly, plus a daily per diem of $65-$120 for eligible candidates. This contract role begins immediately and spans at least six months. We are looking for a skilled Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning operations for a high-stakes data center or mission-critical build in Texas. Ideal candidates will possess extensive expertise in the strategic planning, orchestration, and implementation of commissioning protocols for intricate electrical, mechanical, controls, and facility infrastructure. You will collaborate extensively with construction personnel, MEP contractors, external vendors, client stakeholders, and operations staff to ensure seamless system verification, testing, and final project delivery. Core Responsibilities Direct and synchronize commissioning workflows for electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and building control systems. Create and oversee the lifecycle of commissioning documentation, including schedules, test scripts, checklists, and strategic plans. Foster collaboration between project leadership, trade partners, vendors, and commissioning agents to ensure project alignment. Drive the successful execution of equipment startup, functional performance testing, and integrated system verification to ensure operational excellence. Monitor the status of commissioning milestones, including punch lists, system readiness, and turnover documentation to maintain project momentum. Evaluate technical submittals, design drawings, equipment specifications, and O&M manuals for project compliance. Guarantee that all systems meet rigorous client standards, safety protocols, and reliability benchmarks for long-term performance. Organize and lead essential project meetings, including readiness reviews and collaborative problem-solving sessions. Oversee the final handover process, including staff training, documentation closeout, and transition to operational status. Professional Qualifications Proven background in roles such as Commissioning Manager, Startup Manager, or Systems Completion Lead. Demonstrated history of delivering complex MEP projects within data centers, healthcare, energy, or mission-critical environments. Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, switchgear, and integrated building management systems. Proficiency in analyzing complex MEP blueprints, technical specifications, and commissioning procedures. Expertise in managing relationships between diverse construction teams, contractors, and client operations staff. Experience utilizing industry-standard software like Procore, Bluebeam, or BIM platforms to streamline project tracking. Exceptional leadership and communication abilities to resolve technical challenges and document project progress. Availability to work on-site in Texas for the full duration of the contract term.
