Coordinates and performs technical work related to new utility installations and state and/or federally funded utility adjustments and relocations. Work requires contact with private entities and governmental agencies. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Utility Coordinator III:
Coordinates and performs technical work related to new utility installations and state and/or federally funded utility adjustments and relocations. Work requires considerable contact with private entities and governmental agencies. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Essential DutiesUtility Coordinator I:
• Assists with establishing and coordinates activities between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies and other entities.• Assists with implementing and interpreting Department policies and procedures as related to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.• Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons and relocation costs.• Assists in the review of schematics, utility adjustment plans and cost estimates, maps, surveys, field notes, property descriptions, pre-appraisal and appraisals, titles, deeds, legal and curative instruments and/or exhibits.• Assists with review of agreements, plans, specifications and billings submitted by the utility companies.• Assists with review and processing of new utility installation permits• Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions to resolve problems.• Assists with the preparation of the utility adjustment assembly folder to include all pertinent data and handout materials; prepares report for approval.• Assists with providing updates on current projects for progress and pending projects for planning and portfolio management purposes; consults and advises personnel in policies and procedures.• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Utility Coordinator II:
• May serve as the liaison with and coordinates activities between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies, and other entities.• Implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.• Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons and relocation costs.• Performs reviews and determines eligibility requirements for payment of relocation reimbursements.• Reviews current projects for progress and pending projects for planning purposes; advises and trains others on policies and procedures.• Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions to resolve problems.• Assists with the preparation of the utility adjustment assembly folder to include all pertinent data and handout materials; prepares report for approval.• Prepares utility adjustment assembly folder to include all pertinent data and handout materials; prepares report for approval.• Provides updates on current projects for progress and pending projects for planning and portfolio management purposes; consults and advises personnel in policies and procedures.• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Utility Coordinator III:
• Coordinates the execution of relocation and/or condemnation papers with Department payment• Coordinates, reviews and processes new utility installation permits.• Implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adj• Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentage• Monitors the installation/removal, adjustment or relocation of utilities.• Prepares, processes and maintains documents, references and/or resource materials.• Reviews agreements, plans, specifications and billings submitted by the utility companies.• Trains other employees.• Consults with area engineer and/or maintenance supervisor on complex utility permit issues• Develops, maintains and updates utility relocation schedules.Benefits
