Project Manager - Heavy Civil / TxDOT | Laredo, TX About the job A fast-growing Texas heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Heavy Civil division, with a particular focus on TxDOT roadway and infrastructure projects. The company delivers complex transportation and civil infrastructure projects throughout Texas, including roadway construction, earthwork, drainage, utilities, concrete and associated heavy highway scopes. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with strong TxDOT experience to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final completion, managing project financials, schedules, field operations and client relationships.

Responsibilities Manage TxDOT and heavy highway projects from preconstruction through final completion. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with TxDOT plans, specifications and quality requirements. Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, change orders and financial reporting. Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress and identify potential delays or cost impacts. Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors and internal project teams. Maintain strong working relationships with TxDOT representatives, inspectors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders. Review plans, specifications, quantities and contract requirements while resolving technical and construction issues. Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes and project records. Monitor project performance and ensure contractual milestones and project objectives are achieved. Qualifications 5+ years of heavy civil or heavy highway construction experience. Previous experience managing TxDOT roadway or transportation projects strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant construction experience. Strong knowledge of roadway construction, earthwork, drainage, utilities and concrete scopes. Strong understanding of TxDOT specifications, documentation and project delivery requirements. Experience managing project budgets, schedules, change orders, subcontractors and client relationships. Proficiency with construction project management tools and software. Strong leadership, commercial, organisational and communication skills. Valid driver's licence.
