Job Description:
Overview We are looking for a proactive and execution-driven Project Developer to support the development of Data Centre and energy infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on natural gas (pipelines, midstream assets, and related infrastructure) in West Texas. This role requires a hands-on professional with experience in project origination, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and permitting, particularly within the Texas regulatory environment. The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen with technical understanding and the ability to move projects from early-stage origination through development milestones. Key Responsibilities Identify and originate new project opportunities in natural gas and industrial infrastructure, including pipelines and midstream assets Lead site identification and land origination efforts, working closely with landowners, land brokers, and local stakeholders Negotiate and secure land agreements, easements, and rights-of-way Manage and support the permitting process, with a strong focus on Texas-specific regulations for gas infrastructure, including coordination with: Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) Environmental and local permitting authorities County and municipal stakeholders Coordinate environmental, technical, and legal workstreams required for project development Support route selection and feasibility analysis for pipelines and related infrastructure Act as a key interface with local communities, authorities, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project advancement Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, consultants, and service providers Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, commercial) to advance projects through development stages Support commercial structuring and origination efforts, including identifying potential offtakers, partners, or strategic counterparties Prepare internal reports, development updates, and investment materials Stay up to date with Texas regulatory changes, market trends, and infrastructure opportunities Requirements 3+ years of experience in project development within: Natural gas infrastructure (pipelines, midstream) & Grid experience Industrial or energy projects (renewables experience is a plus) Proven experience in origination and land acquisition, including direct interaction with landowners and land brokers Strong knowledge of permitting processes in Texas, particularly related to gas infrastructure Familiarity with the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) and relevant regulatory frameworks Solid understanding of project development lifecycle (from origination to pre-construction) Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external partners Strong negotiation and communication skills Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong ability to execute Willingness to be based in Midland, West Texas Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Studies, Business, or related field
